02: Rosemary Nickel- From Postpartum Depression to Postpartum Determination (Part 1)

Rosemary Nickel’s life consists of passionately motivating other moms to be all they can be; teaching moms exactly how to utilize their skills and talents to create the life they want to live. Rosemary’s popular coaching business, Motivating Other Moms, helps moms in all of life’s ages and stages to hone the skills they have to grow their business ideas and start-ups into what they always dreamed they would be. Given her decade of marketing, social media and business coaching experience, coupled with a no-holds bar, down-to-earth, sugar & spice coaching technique moms learn how to remove the obstacles blocking their path to success. A chief motivator that has helped 100s of moms achieve success, Rosemary is now a popular podcaster, sought after speaker, marketer, coach and motivator, inspiring women everywhere to reach for their dreams, create the life they dream of, while giving them the concrete tips and techniques to get there. Main Points: Why are we having this conversation in our PJ’s. The beautiful birth that turned into a trauma story. Her Postpartum Depression reality check and the breaking point that led her to her to seek help. Why trying to “fit in” to mommy groups was not working. How she was forced to a network meeting that made her entrepreneur light bulb go off. Why having a supportive community can make a world of a difference. Self-worth, how Rosemary defines it and what exactly does it mean. New hot things going on with Motivating Other Moms. The lessons Rosemary teaches her children as they grow up. Key lessons learned from Rosemary’s purpose driven journey. Rosemary's Golden Phrases: It’s kind of like being a celebrity when all of the sudden you look like you just showed up and you are famous. And that’s not the truth. Behind every person there is a story. With everything that was going on, I ended up with postpartum depression because I was not taking care of myself. I would not ask for help. I asked for help in a roundabout way but not direct. When people don’t realize they are in depression it is hard for them to get help. The same reason why I didn’t fit into high school groups or anything else, I am just different; which most entrepreneurs are. We think differently about life, and what it is, and who we are, and it’s hard to be around other people that aren’t like us. Every single person has to go through something. There’s something that sparks that idea and that passion. That’s the way I look at life now. When something bad happens I’m like, okay, I wonder what are the great results are going to be. I don’t wallow in the misery of it. That idea of knowing that there is a beauty to every ending if you look at it the right way. The Journey is loving yourself, and really your self-worth is the value that you add to the world. Everybody has something, your something is different than the person sitting next to you.
