S2-Ep9 The Power of The Breath - Transform Your Life One Breath At A Time, With Walid AboulNaga (Founder of Nafas)
The One Day Podcast (يوماً ما)
05/10/22 • 50 min
Every single human on this planet has access to a powerful yet an often under-utilized tool that can transform their lives, and that’s the breath. We take our breath for granted since we are not educated enough about the ways we could use it to improve our lives.
Ancient traditions have used the breath as a tool for spiritual transformation for thousands of years. There is a variety of breath-centered meditations followed in Buddhism, Taoism, Sufism, Christianity, Shamanism, and martial arts. Breathing is, obviously, nothing new, but it has had a big revolution in the last 60 years.
Taking us on a journey of understanding the breath is Walid Aboulnaga. an Adventurer, Entrepreneur, and Transformational Facilitator who has left his stressful corporate world behind to embark on a journey of self awakening, training with masters of breathwork, to eventually start “Nafas”.
He created Nafas as a vehicle to awaken people to the power of their breath and their internal worlds. Nafas curates and creates transformational journeys combining spirituality and adventure for soul seekers and anyone seeking a disconnect from a busy lifestyle.
Today more than ever, knowledge around using our breath is important. We lead extremely busy lives addicted to our black screens; jumping from an email to another, a phone notification to a message to a zoom call...etc. We don't pause enough, we don’t breathe enough.
That’s why the conversation I had with my guest, Walid, is one that is extremely important as it cuts across business mindset and life. Without the right energy and mental clarity, you won't be able to show up to life the way you should and deserve.

S2-Ep17 - Specialization vs. Diversification ...in Career, Skills, Interests
The One Day Podcast (يوماً ما)
07/05/22 • 11 min
Would you rather spend your life specializing in one career and skill? Or would you prefer exposing yourself to various industries and career paths before you focus on one?
Is there a right or wrong? I might not have the solid answer for that, and this episode isn’t about promoting one over the other. This episode is about presenting both schools of thought, and highlighting the pros of each, while presenting evidence where appropriate.
I personally have been on the career diversification path, and it has been extremely rewarding, for reasons I explain in the episode. I also reference the book “Range” by David Epstein heavily in the episode. David authored his book in the pursuit of figuring out what’s a better path for humans; is it diversifying a skill or focusing on mastering one instead? In the book he presents research-driven evidence to talk about the importance of one over the other, which I will also highlight in the episode.
The real question is, does anyone have their career path “really” figured out?
In the episode, I also cover:
- What is the 10,000 hours rule about
- Tiger Woods vs. Roger Federer (two different approaches to achieving greatness)
- Is it ever late to pivot in your career?
- The difference between Nobel Prize Scientists and average scientists
- My biggest fear in my career (which a lot of you could relate to)

Today science is proving that there is a strong connection between the mind and the body. Meaning, a lot of the unexplained diseases that manifest in our bodies, are often a result of chronic mental states and patterns that we have been embodying.
Therefore, holistic healing is not only about healing the symptoms (western medicine approach), but also about getting to the root cause of the issue, which tends to be healing unprocessed emotions from the past.
Our guest of the week is Dr. David Abou Khalid, a holistic healer who explores and applies a combination of alternative methods of treatment to heal the root cause of our mental and physical issues. Examples of some of those methods include:breathwork, brain rewiring techniques, hypnotherapy, sound therapy, emotional management and more.
Dr. David is also an innovator of the Transformation Holistic Breathing Technique, a holistic healer, hypnotherapist and an international trainer who speaks on life changing topics such as the importance of our mind and body connection. He's been in the field and changing the lives of people for 20+ years.
We also talk about:
- The definition of “Energy”
- Why everything around is composed of energy
- What are the functions of our bodies chakra systems (or energy centers)
- Real definition of Law of Attraction
- Mind-Body connection
- Ways to overcome stresses of our daily life

S2-Ep15 Career Burnouts (Why We Experience Them, and How To Avoid Them)
The One Day Podcast (يوماً ما)
06/21/22 • 17 min
“The day you should stop working hard, is the day you die”. Unfortunately these are the kind of messages we’re surrounded with these days as preached by business influencers and leaders. Pushing people to work hard, and fight hard for what they want without balance or break.
I am not opposed to hard work and grit, but what I am opposed to is slaving our physical and emotional bodies to hard work in non sustainable ways and for no justifiable reasons, and that would often lead us to a burnout.
I have recently experienced a career burnout and to say that I was suffering is an understatement. I’ve also been getting feedback from the One Day Podcast community to talk about this topic, and so I decided to dedicate this episode towards this theme.
Burnout is a gradual process that creeps up on us and eventually could break us. It is therefore very important we deal with it before it develops into a bigger health problem. In this episode I explore some major signs of a burnout, the drivers of a burnout, my personal experience with career burnout as well as some practical solutions we could apply in our personal and professional lives to mitigate exhaustion levels.

S2-Ep8 Practicing Mindfulness Should Be A Daily Thing - (Why Should It Be Exclusive to A Religious Period?)
The One Day Podcast (يوماً ما)
04/26/22 • 13 min
Why does it have to stop at Ramadan, lent or any other religious period?...
During certain religious periods we tend to uphold certain mindful habits. We become more conscious of our intentions, actions and words. We take the time to contemplate more, and practice gratitude. However, as soon as these religious periods are over, we lose some of the self-discipline and consciousness in living.
This is my last Ramadan themed episode, and I decided to end it on a self reflection that sums up the month to me. I noticed there’s a lot of great qualities I practice during Ramadan but that tend to decline after the month is over, such as: being active with charity, practicing mindfulness, or even re-kindling social connections that tend to die out during the year...etc.
In recording this episode I am also promising myself to become more of the things I do or represent during Ramadan. Let me know if any of what I talk about resonates with you by leaving a comment on any of the podcast platforms, YouTube or my Instagram posts.

S2-Ep4 - Taking Risks in Life - How Risky Should A Risk Be?
The One Day Podcast (يوماً ما)
03/29/22 • 15 min
“Take Big Risks”, “Go All In” “Don’t look back”. These are some of the many statements we’ve been hearing lately, especially with the explosion of entrepreneurship as a concept and career. I do agree that we need to take risks in life, but I am a bigger believer in taking calculated and examined risks.
In this episode, I share my take on this often romanticized theme of risk, and share practical ways of how I would go about taking jumps in my life or career.
Hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think by leaving a comment on any of my Instagram posts, or YouTube channel.

A serial entrepreneur and an Ex-Uber Hamdi Tabbaa takes us deep into the exciting world of EdTech (Education - Technology), as we explore with him all of the revolutionary concepts they are introducing to the educational sector for the MENA region.
Abwaab was launched in the midst of COVID (Feb 2020), and despite the timing of launch they were able to achieve an incredible growth nonetheless. We talk about all of that and much more. I dig into Hamdi’s past entrepreneurial experiences and all the tough failures that had paved the way for his current success, and he shares a lot!
We discuss everything from the future of education to what it really takes to succeed in the world of tech today. A LOT of great insight for founders to pick up from this episode.

S2-Ep1 The Art of Negotiation, with Lousin Mehrabi (Professional Negotiator, International Speaker, Advisor)
The One Day Podcast (يوماً ما)
03/08/22 • 61 min
We are kicking off season 2 with an extremely important yet an underrated topic, and that’s the power of negotiation. When you wake up to an alarm, there’s a negotiation. When you try to resolve a conflict with your partner, there’s a negotiation. When you’re asking for a raise from your boss, there’s definitely a negotiation!
Our guest, Lousin Mehrabi, one of the most influential professional negotiators globally, is here to share strategies and tips around becoming a professional negotiator. Lousin has rubbed shoulders with some of the most powerful negotiators in the world, including FBI negotiators. She is also an international speaker and an advisor on topics such as leadership and emotional intelligence.
The conversation that I have with Lousin goes well beyond negotiations and explores emotional resilience as she shares the tough personal journey she has been on dealing with her son’s fatal disease.
An intellectually stimulating, emotionally rich conversation you wouldn’t want to miss!

S2-Ep11 Reinvent Yourself, Your Career, Your Life with Fahad AlButairi (Actor, Stand Up Comedian)
The One Day Podcast (يوماً ما)
05/24/22 • 50 min
Stand-Up comedy is one of the hardest jobs on earth. Could you imagine standing in front of an audience to try and make them laugh? My guest this week is one of the biggest stand-up comedians and YouTube personalities in the Arab region, Fahad AlButairi.
Fahad was doing stand-up comedy back when none existed in Saudi, or in the region as a whole. Not only did he succeed at it, but his career completely took off from his first ever official performance in 2008. Shortly afterwards Fahad was sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the scene, such as Gabriel Iglesias, Maz Jobrani, Tony Rock and Eddie Griffin.
In the conversation we talk about the importance of reinventing ourselves, especially when we feel stuck or that we’ve got more to offer to this world. This discussion is very relevant to Fahad’s artistry journey since he decided to re-shift focus away from stand-up comedy and explore other areas of creation instead. Today, he is an actor, writer, and a creative producer, with a constant strive to expand on his capacity as an artist and grow.
We also talk about:
- The entertainment industry in Saudi and how billions of dollars are being invested in it to revamp it
- How stand-up comedy is worse than public speaking, and the preparation a stand-up comedian uses to master his performance
- When would be the right time to leave a 9 to 5 job to pursue a passion
- The possible future of film and entertainment in the region
