Mike opens the show by saying so many things have gone on that are newsworthy. Torya agrees to it however most of the news is dogshit and she doesn't give a rat’s ass about it but today she found out something rather amusing. She proceeds to read an interesting article titled “Suicide pods now legal in Switzerland, providing users with a painless death”, by the globalnews.ca.
Mike then shares his opinion about this article. He would never ever classify this as neat when someone was at the point where they’re giving up and they're not gonna let nature take its course and just give up and take their life themselves.
Torya then shares that most of the people who go the medically assisted suicide route are in extreme pain with zero quality of life. Based on statistics she researched, 98% of people who choose medically assisted suicide are in hospice, which means their life is garbage.
Mike’s bottom line to this issue is that depending on the sum of the facts presented. It's like one of the situations wherein some cases it's perfectly okay and some cases morbid. Torya then shares her opinion on this matter. She thinks it is one of those things that people should be allowed to choose for themselves.
Then they continue sharing their opinions about this article. Mike admitted that he thinks the problem is he doesn’t know anything about medically assisted suicide.
Torya then shares that she agrees with Mike, that what if the diagnosis is wrong. But she thinks she will deal with that when it's in her family and it's her business. Mike says that he forgot his argument about this issue. Torya then says that maybe she talks to some of it. Mike then shares that it is educational for people who are listening to be able to change their views based on what somebody says because if you won't be able to do that, it's usually for one reason only, you're not listening.
Torya then shares that there are things that they don't agree on and have not agreed on ever but they slowly over time as they have more discussion of those things, drift toward one another. They believe that they are generally the type of people who are willing to consider other people’s opinions on things and make an educated decision for themselves based on those opinions. Mike agreed.
Torya ends the show by saying how exhausted they were and Mike agrees that it is a long long week.
