The Mindset Mile

Aisha Zaza, Upstarter Podcast Network

I'm Aisha Zaza and my purpose is to help others build better habits towards living their best and healthiest life. For the first 30 episodes of this podcast, you will be challenged to walk or run one mile a day while listening to the corresponding daily episode where we will discuss how mindset shifts can transform all aspects of life from health, fitness, relationships, business and well being. Why one mile? Because it's as simple to do as it is to not do, and therein lies the difference. We will dismantle the idea that to achieve goals you must take quantum leaps towards them and instead take small, consistent actions over time. I believe wholeheartedly that everything you need to reach the happiness and success you desire is already within you and through our time together you will be empowered to know this truth, too. It's time to take action towards your goals because if not now, when? Someday is not a day of the week and you were made for greatness. It will be a marathon, not a sprint - and together we will take it one step, one mile, one day at a time. Welcome to The Mindset Mile. You ready?

Today we're talking all things fertility, hormones and gut health and the negative side effects birth control, processed food and oils have on our physical and mental health. If you have been looking for where to start to your holistic approach to healing your body from the inside out, then look no further than this conversation with Nutritional Therapist and Restorative Wellness Practitioner Alyssa Hustedt.

Alyssa's Bio: Alyssa Hustedt is a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and Master Restorative Wellness Practitioner. Her own 8 year struggle with infertility propelled her into the nutrition space where she vowed to learn more about her body in the hopes of conceiving naturally or at minimum— preparing her body if she and her husband decided to proceed with medical intervention. After 2 years of functional testing, specific diets and lifestyle changes along with holistic nutritional protocols, she and her husband conceived naturally and have adopted a baby girl as well. Through her own experience, education, and helping others who were struggling to conceive, Fertility Wellness Co. was born. Alyssa desires to support as many couples as possible whether they are only beginning to think about having a baby or have been trying for many years. Alyssa does not believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach to health and fertility wellness. Our bodies are uniquely different and should be treated as such in respect to picking a path toward preparing the body for conception. Her goal as a functional practitioner is to work with your specific bio-individual needs and uncover which areas of your health and hormones may need some extra support and TLC to prepare your body to be a safe place to conceive and grow a healthy baby. She also supports women through pregnancy and postpartum.

play

04/22/24 • 16 min

So many behavior patterns and negative thought loops we find ourselves in come from guilt and shame. You might not realize that it’s shame because it’s disguised in negative self-talk, low confidence, lack of patience or the way you project things onto others. But shame is a dead weight we carry around that is unproductive, unloving and leaves no room for growth. In this episode I share some real life examples of how I deal with shame as well as three practical ways you can start breaking free from your self-inflicted shame and guilt cycle to live a better, happier and healthier life.

The Mindset Mile - 86. Overcome Feeling Discouraged
play

12/19/22 • 14 min

In this episode we talk about a nasty disease, it's called discouragement. It’s universal and attacks even those of us with naturally upbeat personalities. Discouragement ruins relationships, it ruins businesses, it ruins culture, it ruins progress, it makes parenting more difficult, it serves absolutely no good. And even more, discouragement always feels like it’s something happening to us instead of something we can control. It may sound cliche but key to overcoming discouragement is hope. But how do you build hope when it feels like there is none? I go over the seven ways to build your hope and take back control of your life by defeating discouragement.

The Mindset Mile - 32. A New Perspective On Discipline
play

11/29/21 • 12 min

There is not a one size fits all on how to practice discipline but so often we feel like discipline will mean a life that is free of deviation and joy. An aversion to discipline can stem from a number of areas of life, for some, even as far back as young children where the repercussion was punishment based. Which is why a lot of us associate discipline with failure. In this episode we talk about how discipline is not in not quantified by how much you do, but rather, how much you do on purpose, and sometimes that can mean showing up to do something instead of nothing.

The Mindset Mile - 31. The Power Of Taking Ownership
play

11/22/21 • 11 min

In this episode we discuss how taking ownership instead of blaming gives you power to make positive change. When we don't take responsibility of our actions, where we're at in life and our unintentional wrong doings, we give all our power away because we cannot change what we are not claiming as our own. Taking ownership might not feel great right off the bat but in the long run it will make you feel empowered because when we learn from our behavior and experiences we give ourselves the opportunity to experience better outcomes.
