Hello again my friends,
Nick here, coming back to you with another amazing and interesting episode. For this, I decided to go Nautical themed. I originally intended this episode to be solely focused on Atlantis, however I figured I would save some of the conspiracy theories and recent developments on it for another time; deciding to focus solely on Atlantis' back story.
Because that bit was so short, and the historical mystery of it all strays a bit from what I like to cover in the Podcast, I wanted to throw a few more things at you. To supplement the episode, I talk about the treacherous entities known as Sirens. How their songs affect sailors and seafarers before moving on to the big boy. The creature everyone who is a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean knows as The Kraken. But does the Kraken really exist? How did it come to be? All those questions are more are answered by just hitting play.
Outside of this, as we look not too far ahead, i'm really looking forward to the March 14th episode! I've decided, that because St. Patrick's Day is that week that I'm going to do a Folklore Appendices episode specifically on Irish folk legends. One of those covered will be the Banshee (because I have a friend whose nickname is Banshee so I hope she'll enjoy that). As for the other one or two, you'll have to wait. If there's a specific one you want to hear (or any story in general), feel free to shoot me an e-mail at [email protected]. I'd love to hear from you!
A few brief housekeeping points before we wrap up. I would be thrilled if you could leave a review for us. Accomplished by using whichever podcast app you're streaming from (i.e. the star button through Spotify). Also - make sure you subscribe, follow, etc. because I have a really terrifying story coming next week! As for what it is, you'll have to stick around for the Outro.
One thing I wanted to circle back around to as well, and I apologize for not keeping my promise; is that I wasn't able to do a guest interview for February. Like you, life sometimes gets in the way for me. Curveballs get thrown at you and the general busyness sometimes gets in the way. That doesn't stop me from producing my weekly episode to share with all of you. As I mentioned in some of the episodes, this is my creative outlet so it's important to me that I keep the weekly promise to both you and I to come back. Because I love these st

The Folklore Appendices: Cat stories in Folklore

Folklore Appendices: Cat Stories in Folklore

Hello again!
And a very happy Valentine's Day to you all. If you're not celebrating Valentine's Day or it has a different meaning to you this year, then we can all celebrate together with a new Insidious Agenda episode! If you made it to the end of last week's episode, you might be a little surprised by the subject heading for this one. I know, I promised you Atlantis and a few (more) folklore stories; however something hit me shortly after I finished editing and uploading the Alcatraz episode. It was that my next Podcast episode would be set to release on Valentine's Day; and that this year, it didn't mean love.
For those who have been with me since the beginning, or even have joined our Fellowship along the way, you know the inspiration behind me starting the Podcast. If you haven't, I outline it in my Host biography and speak on it occasionally; most prevalent is the New Year's re-cap episode.
Well, long story short, if you happen to be listening in on the 14th of February when this episode releases then it is exactly one year to the day that my wife and I said farewell to our best friend Ace as he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Admittedly, it has been one of the toughest years of my life mentally. Although wounds eventually heal, the scars never do. When I find myself happening upon memories of my friend a smile comes to my face. However, if I linger too long that smile turns into tears. I miss my friend dearly and felt it prevalent to do something in his memory.
Ace was the one that taught me to be creative from watching him play. He taught me to not take things too seriously and I have let go of many cares for things I once thought were important (work, politics, religion, etc.). He taught me to be loving and to be happy to see people (things I'm still working on). He taught me to be myself, and to be honest in being myself. I attribute so many things to his lessons and him having been a part of my life.
So you can enjoy Ace's memory as well, I am dedicating this episode to him. It's fitting that it is stories of Cats from Folklore around the world (albeit it, mainly Europe). I'll discuss the early relationships between Cats and Humans, before moving on to Folklore Stories and Superstitions.
It is shorter than many of my recent episodes as I had an incredibly hard time writing it and performing it, getting stuck on my friend's memory (which you can hear in my voice duri

Chapter 32 - The Exorcism of Anna Ecklund

Chapter 32 - The Exorcism of Anna Ecklund
https://linktr.ee/insidiousagendapodcast
Hello Hello!
Here were are, finally! The long awaited return to all things spooky and Paranormal. Our first true spooky episode since the Haunting in Connecticut episode just over a month ago. This one isn't to be missed! Regarded as possibly the most exciting exorcism in human history, this is the Exorcism of Anna Ecklund. A woman who suffered demonic possession for almost 40 years in the earlier half of the 20th century.
From the time she was 14 until she was 54, Emma Schmidt (Anna Ecklund's true name) played host to a multitude of demons - two of which, were family members! I know, it's as bad as it sounds, trust me. In this episode you'll hear about Anna's tragic teenage years, specifically how rough her home life was after the death of her mother. Then, her struggles with the restriction from her faith due to the possession and the enduring of many exorcisms over a 17 year period.
This one is truly frightening, so those who listen with children or younger kids I highly recommend you use discretion here. There are conversations read between the Exorcist and the Demons (yes, using a demonic voice - because I like to do that). It may frighten them even more so, just fair warning.
Outside of that I have a lot of awesome things coming your way in March. To give you the schedule in advance (for those who read the show notes) here you go:
March 7th: ALIEN - Close Encounters (Types and Stories)
March 14th: FOLKLORE APPENDICES - The Dark Tales of Ireland (St. Patick's Day week)
March 21st: HAUNTED HOUSES - The LaLaurie Mansion and The Winchester
March 28th: Potential Guest Interview - TBD
I hope you really enjoy listening to this episode. It's a beautifully tragic tale of one woman's fight against her inner demons (literally).
I'll talk to you again next week and as always, thanks for coming back to listen and for choosing the Insidious Agenda Podcast. It always means the world to me :)
Oh - and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss anything amazing! AND I LOVE receiving and reading all of the amazing comments that come in to my YouTube channel on each video.
Fans like you always make this experience worth it :)
Until next time - stay spooky!
Nick

The Insidious Agenda - Chapter 31 - Into the Deep: Atlantis, Sirens and The Kraken
Transcript
It’s always puzzling that as humans we know significantly more about Space, things outside our atmosphere than we do about those on our own planet. As of 2022, we have only explored about 5% of our Oceans. Some conspiracy theorists might have you believe that we abandoned ocean exploration in the 1970s after finding something alarming and terrifying. More realistically, it is because of the intense ocean pressures rendering us unable to survive in the austere conditions beneath the waves. Bu
