The Humber Spotlight
Episode 1: Humber Business Week 2023 Joanne from Future Humber takes a look at the events put on by Bondholders during Humber Business Week 2023. The first event was Let's Talk Place, which was held at the MKM Stadium, and launched Humber Business Week with a bang. John Till of thinkingplace led a panel of experts from the region to discuss place and what it meant to them and the opportunities it presents for businesses in the Humber. Attending were artist Calvin Innes and poet Vicky Foster, who both captured the conversation and vibe in the room to produce a wonderful artwork and a poem. You can hear the poem on this episode. For more information about the event, see https://www.futurehumber.com/news-events/news/the-future-humber-blog/let-s-talk-place-what-does-the-humber-mean-to-you/ The second event was a vibrant session on public speaking skills with performance coach Jackie Dack. The first event as Talent+ was very well received and extremely engaging. Thank you to Bert's Pizzeria for the venue and the lunch. You can read more about this event at https://www.futurehumber.com/news-events/events/talentplus/captivating-your-audience/ The third event was Creating Hope through Action with Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, a taster of their Mental Health Champions training, which looked at mental health in the workplace and how we could help others experiencing mental health issues. A huge thank you to HEY Mind for providing the training, and to Hull College for hosting. You can learn more about this one at https://www.futurehumber.com/news-events/events/talentplus/creating-hope-through-action-mental-health-in-the-workplace-ii/ Humber Business Week was another great success. We said goodbye to Kath Lavery who has been at the helm for 14 years, and welcomed Pat Coyle of Rollits LLP to the role of Chair. We hope the next 14 years continue to see growth and plenty of activity for businesses in the Humber. You can learn more about Humber Business Week at https://www.humberbusinessweek.co.uk/
