Episode 1: Humber Business Week 2023

Joanne from Future Humber takes a look at the events put on by Bondholders during Humber Business Week 2023.

The first event was Let's Talk Place, which was held at the MKM Stadium, and launched Humber Business Week with a bang. John Till of thinkingplace led a panel of experts from the region to discuss place and what it meant to them and the opportunities it presents for businesses in the Humber. Attending were artist Calvin Innes and poet Vicky Foster, who both captured the conversation and vibe in the room to produce a wonderful artwork and a poem. You can hear the poem on this episode. The second event was a vibrant session on public speaking skills with performance coach Jackie Dack. The first event as Talent+ was very well received and extremely engaging. The third event was Creating Hope through Action with Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, a taster of their Mental Health Champions training, which looked at mental health in the workplace and how we could help others experiencing mental health issues. Humber Business Week was another great success. We said goodbye to Kath Lavery who has been at the helm for 14 years, and welcomed Pat Coyle of Rollits LLP to the role of Chair. Episode 2: Innovation Zero 2023

In May 2023, Future Humber and Partners took the Humber 2030 Vision to the inaugural Innovation Zero, Clean Tech Congress at London Olympia.

In this episode, Joanne talks to some of the partners who formed the Humber Pavilion and to those who represented the Humber region through talks at the conference, including Richard Gwilliam of Drax and Jenny Sutcliffe of Phillips 66.

The conference will be returning in 2024 and the Humber will be there, bigger and better. If you would like to join us, get in touch.

On this episode, Matt Johnson talks to Abbie and Matt of ReNew - Change Grow Live, a alcohol and drugs addiction service in Hull. They talk about how they are challenging the stigmas associated with addiction and how they help those in recovery in the Humber.

The Recovery Walk UK is a national event which this year is being hosted by ReNew and the city of Hull. It's billed as Pride for those in recovery and anyone can come and take part. On the 26th September, Bondholders headed to Grimsby to learn more about the fish processing industry. Led by Simon Dwyer and Julie Waites of Made Great in Grimsby, the visit was a unique behind the scenes experience for Bondholders, delivered by Future Humber.

Simon Dwyer is a board member of Future Humber and it was fantastic to see more about the work that he does for the region's fish and food processing businesses.
