#155: Bonus Episode - The Camp Hamwi Series (Part 3) - Cayden & Grayson

Hey Diabuddy thank you for listening to show, send me some positive vibes with your favorite part of this episode.

I've had the pleasure of meeting many inspiring athletes in my role as a coach. However, my conversation with Cayden and Grayson, two young soccer enthusiasts who live with Type 1 diabetes, truly stood out to me. Their journey has been full of obstacles, but they've achieved many triumphs along the way. Their resilience and determination are a testament to those who navigate life with diabetes. Their stories of managing diabetes among the demands of soccer serve as an inspiration for all of us, whether we're diabetic or not.
Cayden's diagnosis surprisingly came just before a pivotal soccer tournament. But his spirit remained unscathed as he took control of his disease from day one. Grayson, whose father also has diabetes, shared his symptoms, hospital journey, and recovery, offering an insightful peek into his life post-diagnosis. You'll also hear how these two soccer enthusiasts have adapted their routines and diet to maintain their performance on the field. Their heartwarming friendship and unwavering resilience underline the power of community in managing a condition like diabetes.

#157: Unbreakable Bonds: A Mother & Son’s Answer - Leiland & Leigha

Hey Diabuddy thank you for listening to show, send me some positive vibes with your favorite part of this episode.

Have you ever wondered what it's like for a young boy to be diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and trying to manage it while living a normal childhood life? In this episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Leiland and his mother, Leigha. Leiland's story of courage and resilience is truly inspiring. We discuss how he communicates his symptoms to his mother and the importance of having open lines of communication between a young diabetic and their caregiver. We also delve into Leigha's early challenges in figuring out what works best for Leiland. This is another great conversation highlighting the importance of having support when first diagnosed with diabetes.
