Stasha Washburn: Embracing Your Cycle | The Healing Grove Podcast
03/27/23 • 44 min
This week you get to meet my friend, Stasha Washburn.
Stasha is many things. Dancer. Chef. Sword fighter. Speaker. Author. Skateboarder. And more. She is a football-loving, tai chi-practicing, all-around rock star of a human, and a self-proclaimed digital nomad who will go anywhere as long as there’s a tea kettle and WiFi.
I know. In 2019 I spent a year working closely with her as my business coach, and for half the year she was in Australia, the other half in California, and somewhere along the way she made an appearance onstage with Elizabeth Gilbert in Fiji (!?). Thank goodness for the Internet!
But perhaps more relevant to this week's conversation, Stasha Washburn is also The Period Coach--"the bloody kind, not the grammar kind." A survivor of severe endometriosis, Stasha has spent the past 20+ years learning how to heal herself, and now sharing that wisdom with women around the world in her Period Coaching Certification program. Her deep passion is to reconnect women to the power in their periods and to change the taboo around menstruation so that we can begin to study this complex, chronic, and poorly understood normal event that affects every woman on the planet through their entire reproductive years...and sometimes beyond.

Jeannine Goode-Allen: Embracing the Artist Within | The Healing Grove Podcast
This week I want you to meet Jeannine Goode-Allen, who has spent the greater part of her life in an ever-deepening relationship with her own peep--the 12th century mystic, St. Hildegard of Bingen.
I didn't know about Jeannine's special connection to St. Hildegard until a delightful conversation we had on the beautiful island of Kauai in 2019. I'd heard St. Hildegard's name dropped by a handful of amazing women over the course of my life, which had always lent her an air of mystery and, frankly, coolness. But other than that, I knew very little about this incredibly strong, wise, creative, and playful woman who had survived to the ripe old age of 81...in the 12th century, no less!
In this week's episode you'll get a formal introduction. You will also hear how Jeannine has used her connection to this loving saint--and in particular to her music--to effect massive healing for herself.

Peig Abbott: Conversations With Self | The Healing Grove Podcast
This week I want you to meet my friend, the artist Peig Abbott.
Looking at her now, you'd never imagine that for a period of time Peig was bedridden with a fatigue so debilitating that just getting to the bathroom was considered enough for one day. Now she wields giant blow-torches and wrangles impossibly beautiful forms from stone, wood, and steel!?!
I'm not going to say too much more because her talk, like art, is best experienced firsthand to be appreciated and understood.
