The eLearn Podcast - An Audio-First Elearning Strategy with Michael Greenburg, Call for Content

An Audio-First Elearning Strategy with Michael Greenburg, Call for Content

03/23/21 • 27 min

The eLearn Podcast

No33 Michael Greenburg, Call for Content
My guest today is on a mission: To change the way you create elearning content into an “audio-first” e learning strategy. Michael Greenburg believes that if you “get” audio, in terms of the quality of the recording and the content, every other part of your course will have a solid footing. Not only that: By being the one effective method that does not need your eyes, audio increases your learning opportunities.

In this “ear-opening” conversation we talk about:

  • Why audio is such an important piece of the learning experience, and why paradoxically is one of the least taken care of.
  • Michael’s three key steps to get started with a quality, audio-first elearning experience.
  • The many ways you can turn audio content into a variety of formats and experiences, or in Michael’s case, a promising business model.
  • The benefits of stepping up your audio game, for anything from your confidence as a public speaker, to the way you make content intrinsically compelling.
  • And of course, the limitations of audio-only learning; which is to say that in many cases audio can play a fortifying role when used along with other media.

Education & Entrepreneurship in Latin American Youth with Kristin Barrett, Collective Academy

No32 Kristin Barrett, Collective Academy
My guest for today is Kristin Barret. Born and raised in Chicago, Kristin and her family transitioned to Mexico to oversee the operations of an MBA and leadership school. Before her key role at Collective Academy, Kristin built a tenured career in the meeting point of innovation and education. Now, she co-heads an ambitious plan to forge Mexico’s next generation of leaders by providing critical needs and helping accelerate their success.
In this surprisingly relevant conversation we talk about:
🗽 Why the pandemic and all the struggles it brought for teachers, it was a real boon for a lot of urban Latin American students, many of which experienced online learning for the first time.
🎓 Lifelong learning, but from a perspective of inclusion, and why Kristin decided to expand from an MBA into Compass, a pre-university program that starts nurturing business and leadership skills.
📲 Why teenagers, regardless of their eventual calling, can benefit from leadership, resilience, organizational and even IT and more technical skills
🌱 The interesting new ways in which Collective Academy is giving talented young people access experts and industry leaders; and how connecting with young thinkers can be a powerful tool to address uncertainty and change in creative ways
🎒 Why the pandemic bolstered a revolution in leadership education across the continent, but why we need to continue to explore ways to clear the gaps and promote the creation of valuable business models to anybody who wants it.

Making the case for Elearning in Slovakia with Juraj Gabrhel, Elena Urbanova & Matus Kothaj, e-learnmedia.sk

No34 Juraj Gabrhel, Elena Urbanova, Matus Kothaj, e-learnmedia.sk
Today we good a handful, in the best sense of the word. My three guests, Juraj Gabrhel, Elena Urbanova and Matus Kothaj are with e-learnmedia, an elearning company based in Slovakia and Serbia, catering to the Eastern European world.
Compared to the wealth of choices we have in places like the US, e-learnmedia occupies a space with somewhat less competition, and the focus on promoting the values and benefits of digital technologies in the service of education in their part of the world.
In this exciting conversation we talk about:
👔 The many ways in which running an elearning business is so similar regardless of where you are in the world; and the one or two subtle differences that can make or break your business in Slovakia
🎒 Education, particularly the pending assignment of educating on where the value of elearning is, and where it isn’t
🌍 Why it pays to pay attention to what the rest of the world is doing in elearning, and the limits in knowledge transfer
🔎 The special priorities you can find in corporate learning, where many services we think of as mainstream are just taking off, and collaboration
🇸🇰 The eclectic mixture of modernity, tradition and cultures that makes Slovak elearning so unique, and the lessons it has to the world.
