Beau Vincent / The Conviction of a Leader

The definition of conviction is a firmly held belief. Leadership looks different for each person, but every leader has strong convictions that pave the way for how they guide their people. Whether you're an experienced leader, a current leader, a novice leader, or a soon-to-be leader--this podcast is a must for you. Through this show, we will hear leaders share their convictions, the struggles they face, and the challenges they have overcome by staying true to their convictions. Leadership can be hard and can be lonely. I aim to connect you with leaders who have walked the journey and want to show others the way. The Conviction of a Leader - 20. Lead With Authenticity with Justin Harkelroad
play

11/14/22 • 41 min

Send us a text

Our guest today has gone from insurance agency owner, to software developer, to fitness coach and insurance coach.

Justin Harkelroad started a scratch insurance agency in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2007 with a business partner after being told about an $18,000 bonus they could make. They worked their way up to the ‘Mega’ designation with Allstate. Fast forward to 2017, Justin and his partner developed ‘Follow Up Tool’, a CRM that allowed texting, phone call automation, and emailing to be in one location. This program proved to be helpful to salespersons to have everything in one place. By 2019, they merged and sold Follow Up Tool.

Later that year, Justin went to a boxing gym in LA and fell in love. He came back to Fort Wayne and signed a lease on a gym. He sold the insurance agency in early 2020 and opened the gym a couple months later. Three weeks after they opened, everything got shut down due to the pandemic. The gym is now very successful, and he is in the process of opening a second gym on the other side of town.

Get out your pen and paper to take notes! We hope Justin’s story inspires you to chase your dreams. You are the only thing standing between yourself and your goals. The sky's the limit!

Episode Highlights:

  • Justin’s Background
  • Justin’s Progression to Leadership
  • Opening Triumph during a pandemic
  • Justin’s tough lessons, leadership style, convictions, & advice

The Conviction of a Leader - 17. Take Charge of Your Future with Joseph Puckett
play

10/24/22 • 50 min

Send us a text

Sometimes you come to a place in life where you know something needs to change..

For Joseph Puckett, that moment came when his wife was about to have their first child. They had no money, their credit cards were maxed out, and he got the call from his wife at the grocery store... they had bounced a check.

Joseph began his career in leadership development at Amsouth Bank at 21 years old. A few short years into his career, a financial crisis happened and it was no longer a good time to be in banking. Joseph made the decision to open an Allstate Agency from scratch. Within a year of starting his agency, he met a guy named Craig Wiggins and realized he could go further with him. He sold his agency and basically forced himself into Craig’s business.

Joseph and Craig had a small consulting company at the time called Transform Your Agency. He asked Craig if he could work for him in his agency. At first, Craig said ‘no’, but Joseph and his wife moved to Huntsville from Birmingham, and he set up an office in the attic of Craig’s business. Over time, he slowly inserted himself into Craig’s agency. Within 4-5 months, Craig gave him one of his agencies to run and within a year, he was running Craig’s entire operation.

10 years later, they are now working with over 1600 agencies. Joseph personally works with 70 agencies on a monthly basis. Over the years, they’ve trained over 20,000 people. Beau now works with the Craig Wiggins Coaching platform as an agency owner mentor and consultant. We hope you enjoy this episode and are inspired to take charge of your future and create the life you want!

Episode Highlights:

  • Joseph’s career history
  • Turning Point in his life
  • Progression of his role with Craig Wiggins
