Don't Grow Weary

No matter who we are or how strong we may feel at times, we are all prone to grow weary in our own human strength. The circumstances of life can feel heavy. When we think "business" is equivalent to "productivity", it can be easy to run ourselves exhausted. When we associate our identity and worth with what we do, it can be very easy to become tired very quickly. When we believe the lies of the enemy that the work we are doing isn't making an impact, it can be very discouraging. There are so many different avenues in which we find ourselves growing weary, but in Isaiah 40 that God "does not grow faint or weary" so it is through resting in Him that we can be strengthened and refreshed. The Holy Temple of the Lord

How is it that we can be holy? What does it mean that children of God are referred to as His holy Temple? In my alone time with the Lord in His Word recently, I came across Ezekiel 43:12 which addresses that the law of the temple is holiness. This brought so much joy to me as I came to think about how through faith in Christ and being filled with His Spirit, we are God's Temple, made holy in the eyes of the Lord. I hope this message encourages you today in the power of the gospel and the reality that the Lord longs to dwell with us and us with Him.

Rejoice, Pray, Give Thanks

When hearing 'rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances...' it can maybe sound unrealistic because our circumstances in life or our emotions that we feel don't always align with this command from the Lord through Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5. And yet, this is exactly why I was encouraged to share it with you - because that is just it - our feelings and our circumstances cannot be the determining factor of whether or not we rejoice, pray, and give thanks. Otherwise, we wouldn't do these things all of the time, we would simply do it when we felt like it. I pray that today's episode encourages you and challenges you to shift your focus onto the Lord and make the choice to praise Him and seek Him even in times when you don't feel like it.
