The Career Changers - How To Be The Best Version of Yourself

How To Be The Best Version of Yourself

02/28/24 • 24 min

The Career Changers

Our guest today is Debi Kinney, a transformation and accountability coach. From health and wellness to lifestyle and business, she can guide anyone to reach their goals. She went through a major transformation at the age of 45, switching her 25-year career in hospitality to follow her passion and purpose to help others become the best version of themselves.

Today, we are going to talk about her career change and what we need to do to be the best version of ourselves.
Find your inspiration in three quotes:

  • Career Change My identity was so wrapped up in my corporate facade and being in hospitality and events. It's what I built on for 20 years, 25 years of my life. A big challenge for me was identity and switching that corporate mindset.
I had a lot of imposter syndrome. Can I do this? Will people respect me? Do I know enough about what they're asking me about?
  • Becoming the Best Version of Ourselves We've all got room for improvement. None of us are at the very top of our game. Less than 1 percent of us are. Becoming the best version of yourself means celebrating who you are by growing into who you're meant to be.
  • Finding Your Life Purpose/Getting clarity A fun thing to do is to ask your friends what are the top three things that they think when they think of you, what comes to mind. That can be so enlightening.
I actually did that about a year ago as part of a marketing exercise when I was going through a rebrand. And the things that people said back to me, some of them, I understood. And some of them, I was just like, wow, I'm really blown away by how people see me. So that's a really fun way to get that outside perspective.
