The importance of SUSTAINABLE cannabis packaging...and it can save you thousands!

Cannabis businesses and consumers are producing a lot of environmental waste and much of it is plastic. With strict packaging regulation and an industry that is expected to be $30 billion by 2025 in the U.S. alone, this is an issue that must be addressed. On this episode, we hear from a family run cannabis business that is making a positive impact on our environment and has the mission of smoking our oceans clean.

What does the future of cannabis look like?

We’ve already seen our society move toward immersive experiences like virtual reality and augmented reality. And our society is using it every day - from the Instagram or snapchap filters to being immersed in a multi stacked immerisions in tours, music, and exhibits.

But take a moment and think about cannabis. What pops into your mind? Cannabis cafes? Cannabis lounges? Or something more?

We are at the forefront of what is to come with cannabis and entertainment. On today’s show, we talk with two partners at one of the most innovative and entrepreneurial focused law firms based in Los Angeles, California - Nolan Heimann.

About our Experts

Wendy Heimann-Nunes, a managing partner of Nolan Heimann LLP, is the only attorney to specialize in location-based entertainment. She began her career as a talent agent and proudly served as the Executive Director of the renowned landmark, The Chicago Theatre. After graduating from the University of Chicago Law School, Wendy practiced IP transactional law at the international law firm Mayer Brown. She sealed her intense passion for and commitment to immersive entertainment as head of Business and Legal Affairs for Universal Creative. In addition to her professional work, Wendy is a passionate drummer and regularly performs with her band Crinoline.

We also hear from Bryan Bergman, who we’ve had the show before. Bryan is a partner at Nolan Heimann and has nearly fifteen years’ experience in complex business transactions and civil litigation. He realized prior to the passage of Proposition 64 in California that the emerging cannabis industry presented both an opportunity and a challenge, as new cannabis businesses would require legal advice not only on swiftly changing cannabis legislation and regulations but also on basic legal issues that face any entrepreneurial venture and has been working with cannabis business since 2015 and leads the cannabis practice area at Nolan Heimann.
