Ep 135: Thoughts From This Past Weekend's Retreat
08/16/23 • 22 min
Today, I'm thrilled to share my weekend reflections and experiences with all of you of my 1st ever Girlfriends with Podcasts Retreat that took place right at my own home. Not only do I share all the details, but I also fill you in on the unexpected twists and challenges that unfolded for me prior to the event.
Picture this: nerves and excitement mingled as I prepared to host the first-ever retreat in my home. From the powerful connections to the unforgettable conversations, I walk you through every emotion and detail of the weekend on this episode.
But amidst all the hurdles, the retreat turned out to be a major success! My initial fears of not connecting or inspiring my guests vanished the second my 1st guest walked through the door. The bonds formed during this retreat were so genuine that it felt like we'd been lifelong friends. It’s truly amazing when like-minded podcasters come together and have real-life conversations.
Not only did my attendees learn super valuable tips on podcasting, but these newfound connections didn't fade with the end of the retreat. In fact, they blossomed into promising collaborations that will stretch way beyond this event.
As I wrap up this episode, I share some exciting news. I'm gearing up to host a 2nd Girlfriends with Podcasts Retreat this November. This event is a golden opportunity for you to experience the transformative power of connection and collaboration in the podcasting community first-hand.

Ep 134: Messy Hair Don't Care with Amanda McKinney
Accidental Entrepreneurship and all the messy action that goes with it!
On today’s show, I am bringing you Amanda McKinney, who is a recognized thought leader and coach on Accidental Entrepreneurship, author of Why Not You? An Accidental Entrepreneur’s Guide To Success and Host of The Unapologetic Entrepreneur Podcast. And you just won't believe the magic that happens when you stumble onto this path accidentally!
Listen in as Amanda and I have conversations around hiring and outsourcing tasks to bring your podcasting business to the next level. As entrepreneurs we tend to believe everything has to be perfect, but we soon realize that there’s only so much we can do on our own and perfectionism will only keep us back.
If there’s one thing you take away from this episode, it’s that if you can get things done at least 70% of the way you would do it yourself, it’s only a time and money saver to let go of control and hand it over to a team member to do it for you.
You’ll also hear Amanda’s take on how Podcasting has become a relationship building tool for her, adding tuns of value to her potential clients. So, if you’re wondering if podcasting can bring in the dough, listen in to see how Amanda gets her clients and brings in that revenue!
