Ep. 3: Mindset Shifts Part 1: Starting at the Starting Line
08/29/20 • 45 min
We have a thousand to-dos every week! How on earth do we get all of these things done and have time to help our child?
In this episode start this conversation by talking about a specific way to give yourself back your time by learning a strategy to organize your day and week.
Aha Moment #1: When I was saying yes to something, I was also saying no to something else.
Aha Moment #2: What my day looked like needed to match my actual priorities or else I felt guilty and/or frustrated that I didn’t get to my actual priorities.
Aha Moment #3: The reason I was overwhelmed was because I was trying to fit in “all the things” but they don’t fit into my 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
Aha Moment #4: I needed to be realistic about how much time things really took (not what I wanted them to take)
Aha Moment #5: A full schedule means priorities scheduled with some margin and routines built into my schedule to decrease decision fatigue.
Main point – you have tons to do, so you have to be intentional about what and how you do

Ep. 4: Mindset Shifts Part 2: What Our Kids Need From Us
Being a good parent for our child is different for all of us. What does it mean to you??
Mindset shift: my child is capable of learning and growing at his own pace, starting at where they currently are.
Love is a verb. Love is something that we do.
We need to process and wrap our minds around who are child is and where they are in their current development. How can we best parent a child whose needs and the world that we live in don’t always seem to match?
We have to be both a comforter and a teacher. We have to figure out what times our children need us to be a comforter and what times they need me to be a teacher.
Beliefs drive our emotions which lead to our actions and then our ultimate results
B-beliefs
E – emotions
A – actions
R – results
