Our adult lives can (arguably) be broken down into 3 phases: “Young Life” (25-40), Mid Life (40-60) and Old Life (60 +). Each of these phases have “Crisis Points”—unique emotional, professional and relational issues that are very difficult and challenging to navigate.
Living our best lives—and helping those around us do the same—means learning about each phase’s unique challenges and how to consciously respond to them.
Here in part one of a 3-part series, Roy presents a conscious, mindful perspective on how to navigate the “crisis points” that arise in “young life.”
If you are in the “young life” phase or if you know anyone who is, you don’t want to miss the episode.

131 Trigger Warning: Pt. 5: Why We Get Upset and Reactive and What To Do About It
All human beings have five core “wants.” These are deep, fundamental emotional needs and they’re universal. They aren’t bad or wrong, they’re human. No matter who you are, we all want security, approval, control, connection, and freedom.
Here’s the premise in this 5-part series: Whenever we feel triggered, upset or reactive, it’s not because of what’s happening on the surface, meaning, it’s not about what someone has said or done, nor is it about circumstances or conditions not being to our liking.
No, if we dig a little deeper, we find that we’re triggered because one or more of our core wants are not being met. And when that happens, we feel triggered, and that leads to drama and great difficulty in our relationships, intimate or otherwise.
If we want to experience healthy, harmonious relationships, and have any degree of inner peace, we must learn how to handle ourselves when we feel triggered, and that’s what this 5-part series is all about.
In this episode, which is the last in the series, Roy addresses the core want to be free and separate. We all value our autonomy and to be feel free of obligation, but sometimes life gets in the way. Don’t miss this episode!
