Ever feel like you don't have enough time to work on yourself to make those positive changes you crave? Well, what if I told you that it doesn't take hours? Did you know that studies show just 10 minutes of focused, intentional action daily can create significant shifts over time? Think about it – that's less time than you probably spend scrolling through social media!
See, the secret to big changes isn't in crazy life overhauls. It's about those small, super-consistent habits that work their magic slowly but surely, like how a little seed turns into a giant, beautiful tree. Think of these 10-minute habits as planting those super-important life seeds. Let's dive into nine awesome and easy habits you can do each day for positive changes in your life.
Don't let the search for grand transformations distract you from the power of tiny steps.
We often get obsessed with the big picture of the end goal and feel paralyzed by the distance. Massive changes don't happen overnight. They result from those almost invisible daily improvements, the little actions strung together consistently over time.
This concept applies to everything—health, relationships, careers. Imagine losing weight not with a drastic diet but with small, sustainable eating changes and 10 minutes of daily exercise.
Or fixing a troubled relationship not with a single big gesture but with tiny acts of kindness and communication daily. That's the magic of these micro-habits—they're achievable, they're sneaky, and they add up in ways you wouldn't expect.
I’m the author of many books, including, Excuses Don’t Count; Results Rule, Live Life with No Regrets, No Excuses, The Guide to Stopping Procrastination, The Power of Visualization, My Gratitude Journal, the Work Life Balance Emergency Kit, and The Roadmap To Success with Stephen Covey and Ken Blanchard, and more.
Aim for what you want each and every day!

How to Break the Cycle: 6 Stages for Changed Behavior and Achieved Goals
One of the most difficult challenges of sticking to your goals personally and professionally is changing your behavior. Goals like improving your health, reaching a milestone, or revising daily routines aren’t easy. In fact, studies show that our brains don’t like change, are wired for laziness, and have a limited capacity. Ouch! And we often fail because we don’t practice the correct steps.
As with any process, there’s an order to follow. For example, when administering first aid, it’s vital to work sequentially. Before caring for an injured or ill person, you should obviously call for help. Then you check for breathing and a pulse to determine if CPR is needed. Next, if a wound is present, you must attempt to protect yourself from bloodborne pathogens before trying to stop the bleeding.
Or let’s say you’re painting a room in your house. Obviously, you need to choose your paint color (will it be Arizona Dust? Blissful Blue? Soft Candlelight? Gallery Gray?) and purchase the proper amount. You should then prepare the area. You’ll likely move furniture, tape off the trim, and cover the floor with a drop cloth. After all, you wouldn’t want to open that fresh can of paint on an unprotected carpet! Putting in the time for preparation saves you a big headache (and extensive clean-up) later on.
Likewise, there are steps to changing behavior in order to successfully reach your goals. Let’s take a closer look at what’s required.
