We had the pleasure of interviewing independent musician, producer, and writer Neil Gray about the state of arts, music, and culture in Canada. We asked him about the impact of streaming on the industry; the diversity, equity, and inclusion goals of our cultural institutions; and controversies at the Polaris and Indigenous Music Awards shows surrounding “politics” and cultural appropriation. We also chat about what’s good and what’s overrated in the Canadian music scene.
