A wise man said that the dangerous thing about Sky Gilbert is he's got nothing to lose... so of course we had to invite him on to talk to us this week. We ask this Canadian writer, actor, professor, and drag performer about how gay culture and drag have changed over time, the connection between covid and victimhood culture, and the puritanism and anti-humanism of North Americans. He tells us why he prefers the French feminists' approach to MeToo, what it's like working in theatre in these lonely, digital times, and that if we had a healthy sexual culture, people wouldn't be so obsessed with porn and 15-year olds twerking. We also ask him about founding Buddies in Bad Times Theatre in Toronto, and why he had to split with them.
