I am so honored to introduce you to my sweet friend Lauren Hollmann who is my guest for episode 14 of the Talk with Tori podcast!

Lauren is a forever Texas girl, wife, mother of two girls, and cancer survivor. Her story shows with sincere honesty about the tough sides of health issues that occurred with herself and her dad. This all happened within a few years, and she shares with us that you never know what an acquaintance may be going through, so we always need to give others grace and be there for each other.

We chat about Disney, turning 30, working in the pandemic, travel, favorite holidays, The Bachelor, brothers, Schitts Creek, books (check out her reading reviews list), and all things about cooking and hosting.

Carrie gives great insight on pivoting family traditions when life changes unexpectedly, while also keeping many traditions alive in a new space with new people. She shares her story about how the world she knew changed in a way she never expected, but she has still been able to keep the joy and remind us that new memories are not always a bad thing. This is so encouraging in a season where so many things we have done for holidays and celebrations year after year must be adjusted. She is filled with so much knowledge and goodness about hope. She inspires everyone to have the courage and confidence to open our space to create community and to welcome imperfections in our home. She is filled with incredible tips on how to make hosting easy, special, simple, and FUN.

Have you ever had certain turns in your life that you never expected to be in your path? The Beard family is the perfect example of this! Jennifer shares the story of having her newborn baby, Caroline, diagnosed with cancer, and the journey and battles this cancer caused her family. Caroline shares blessings along the way through St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and how St. Jude is still her passion. Her second daughter, Annie, was born, and they were surprised by her talent of gymnastics at a young age. All of these events took their family on an adventure that they never imagined, but the growth that has happened in each of their lives reminds us all that decisions can be difficult, but there are always gifts along the ride!

I am humbled to introduce you to the 2010 Miss Tech and my friend, Jenny Lazarus, on episode 34 of Talk with Tori!

Jenny Lazarus gives us an inside look at her personal journey of infertility. She is open and honest about the heartbreak and struggles that happen when life does not happen as we plan. She encourages us to have hard conversations before and in marriage. Jenny provides knowledge and advice about various causes of infertility that she has gone through including endometriosis, adenomyosis, IUI, IVF, and many other treatments. This episode is eye-opening, and you will be more aware of the pain this can cause many couples. Jenny learned that God will provide joy, and give you a new perspective and life plans.
