In Episode 2, I will define leadership in my terms. Throughout my journey to become a better leader, I have learned that one action is at the core of leadership. Without it, leaders are destined to fail, but with it, leaders can harness the team's collective energy and break through obstacles that were deemed impossible. What is that word? A leader must inspire!

Episode #0010: Self Leadership: 7 Ways Leaders Lose

You will fail at each phase of becoming a Purposeful Accountable Leader (PAL); accept that fact. Still, your failures will galvanize you and help you build the leadership bridge. So, why is self-leadership the first phase of the journey? You must master yourself first to lead others well, which takes routine, accountability, and discipline (RAD). Here are seven ways leaders fail at self-leadership:

Before leading others, learn to master leading yourself first.

Tales of Leadership - E4 Defining A Purposeful Accountable Leader Part 2
play

10/17/22 • 24 min

I set the foundation in the previous episode by providing 11 examples defining a Purposeful Accountable Leader (PAL). In this episode, we will finish explaining a PAL by arming you with the final 10 examples. I would love to hear how you would define a PAL?

Preview: PALs care personally about their family, team, and organization. A universal fact with leadership is relationships matter. You must understand that being a leader requires building strong relationships with others. To do that, you must be authentic and care for each individual you lead. Part of caring personally is showing emotion which is often seen as a weakness in leadership.
