How This Stylist is Transforming the Dressing Room Experience!
02/17/23 • 24 min
In this episode of the Starter Girlz Show, I talk to Becky Morris, the owner of Lilly Claire. Becky says she has always loved fashion! And even though she graduated with a business degree in finance and marketing, fashion has always been her first career choice. After graduating college, Becky started working as a part-time sales associate at Saks Fifth Avenue. This led to positions as a personal shopper and assistant fashion director. Eventually, she became the fashion and public relations director for Saks Galleria Dallas. In this role, she produced charity fashion shows and worked with many designers and celebrities to create events, including a fashion show for England's Prince Edward. Before moving on to her entrepreneurial venture, Becky also served as the media and television spokesperson for Saks. She had the opportunity to travel to other Saks stores nationwide for openings and events.
In this episode, we talk about Becky's introduction to fashion, what it was like starting a business during the pandemic, what makes Lilly Claire unique, and some challenges Becky incurred moving from the corporate space to the entrepreneur space. Becky talks about fashion and the importance of having a fresh set of eyes when it comes to styling. This mother-daughter duo shows us that more is caught than taught and that the skills learned in entrepreneurship are the formula for success in many of our endeavors.
