Soundtrack Your Life
Ryan and Nicole break down the 5 nominees for the 2022 Best Original Song Oscar. They talk about how the category has had as few as 2 nominees (2011) in the past and they question whether this year should've had 5 nominees or not. They discuss Diane Warren's winless streak and whether her song for Reba McEntire, "Somehow you Do" will finally get her a statue. From there, they discuss the Van Morrison heavy soundtrack to Belfast, and his nominated song, "Down to Joy", Beyonce's Doors sampling "Be Alive" from King Richard, Sebastian Yantra's Lin Manuel Miranda written song "Dos Orugitas", and Billie Eilish's Bond theme. "No Time to Die". And even though it's not nominated, Ryan and Nicole talk about Bruno and Ryan tries to explain why it's not nominated.

Ryan, Brandice and Nicole talk about the soundtrack to the 2006 Marc Forster film, Stranger than Fiction. The soundtrack was originally promoted as a Britt Daniel score, but it turns out that Brian Reitzell co-scored the film with Daniel as well as helming the role of soundtrack supervisor. They chat about the many Spoon songs included in the film, including the song "The Book I Write", which was written specifically for the film. They also discuss one of the pivotal scenes in the film where Will Ferrell covers Wreckless Eric's "Whole Wild World" in what may be one the more touching scenes in Will Ferrell's career, and they talk about how the film doesn't feel very 2006 and how the soundtrack plays a role in that feeling.
