Are you moving across the country to follow your dreams? Or maybe just moving out of your hometown for the first time? On this episode we're talking about moving to a west coast city.
We interviewed Tucker Rivera, rising bed-room pop artists who chased his dreams of becoming making it as a musician all the way to LA (and wrote a great song in the process). We talked about his song West Coast City, what motivated him to pursue his passions, and what it's been like so far.
We added more stories to these lyrics with Alicia DiScipio, a Miami University alum who moved to a west coast city to pursue her passions of movies and music. She is currently working in sync within the music industry and offers post move advice, how to jump at opportunities when you have no idea where they might lead, and how to avoid comparison through all the ups and downs.

The Soundtrack of Your Twenties // Welcome to SZN 3
Welcome to SZN 3 and the beginning of The Soundtrack of Your Twenties. This season we are adding more stories to the lyrics, interviewing artists in the "making it" stage of their career about the stories behind their lyrics as well as music fans "making it" in their twenties.
To start off this season I reminisced on the beginning of this podcast, how the show started, and how far I've come. It's this stories like this that I want to capture on SZN 3. Periods of time where the future might have been unknown, but we took a risk and figured it out. Everything from what goes into the making of a song to how it relates to the making of a career.
We're going to learn a lot, discover some great new music, and uncover the soundtrack of our twenties. No one has the right answer, but music helps.
New episodes will be posted every other week on Fridays!

The Soundtrack of Your Twenties // Quarter Life Crisis
Do you feel like you're "doing everything right" but still feel like something is missing? Or maybe you just turned 23 and feel pressure to grow up and "become an adult". Today we interviewed rising Nashville artist, Taylor Bickett and Satya Doyle Byock, author of Quarter-Life, to work through these quarter life crisis feelings.
This episode was inspired by Taylor Bickett's new song QUARTER LIFE CRISIS. We interview Taylor about her background in music, her rise through TikTok, and of course the emotions and the inspiration behind QUARTER LIFE CRISIS.
To answer the questions we both had on working through these quarter-life emotions, I got the chance to interview Satya Doyle Byock, author of Quarterlife, a book on searching for both meaning and stability in early adulthood. We discuss how our world has been structured for stability, but satisfaction doesn't necessarily mean playing along in a game of life. We walk through finding both meaning and stability, her stick figure exercise (which she discuses in length on NPR's Life Kit), and finding ways to not just "grow up" but round out life.
