Brené Brown tells us that the opposite of belonging is fitting in. True belonging never asks us to betray ourselves. In today’s episode, Kit & Kae unpack this concept of authenticity with regard to personal identity. Personal authenticity is often defined as being true and honest with oneself and others, having a credibility in one's words and behavior, and an absence of pretense. Its meaning is then often clarified by contrasting it to inauthenticity, like comparing light to darkness. Okay, but what does it even mean to be authentically you? How does this work, to show up as your most authentic self? How can you stay true to your authentic self, in all situations? How do you remain your most authentic self no matter what?
