How much is fear preventing you from chasing what you want?
In this guest episode of Fearlessly Freelance I met with badass Pilot and Courage Coach, Elissa Davies to chat about how we can get more courageous in life and in business.
Topics covered in our chat:
✹ The psychology and biology of fear
✹ ”Fear prepping” - taking steps to be ready for what scares us most
✹ Embracing your authentic self
✹ Prioritising self-fulfilment and happiness above everything
✹ Building confidence
“As soon as you stop caring what other people think – that can be life changing. The feeling that I don't have to please other people anymore is incredible.”
I really loved talking to Elissa, she is such an inspiring woman with such an awesome career story and fresh outlook on life. If you want to work with someone to help you get out of your own way and embrace your fullest self go and book a call with her!

Structure, Schedules + Routines for Feel-Good Freelance Days
At any stage of building a freelance business, you’re going to need to establish a good routine that helps you get your work done whilst maintaining a balance between the hustle and the rest. Everyone is unique in the way they organise themselves and their business, so by no means am I here to dictate a routine to you - but in this episode I share some of my top tips for creating a schedule that is aligned to your business, your goals and your personal needs.
Having a balanced schedule and structure is key to helping you to feel good about your work, to show up with the right level of energy and to fundamentally enjoy your business - however it’s something that’s quite difficult to get right, especially in the early days of your business when the conditioning you may have had from your corporate jobs still shapes how you approach your work.
From breaking the rules on morning routines to the importance of a proper lunch break and time blocking your calendar to hacking your schedule to create the rest and fun you need, I hope you find something in today’s podcast that helps you refresh your routines.

Frankly Freelance: Coping with Mental Health Challenges Whilst Freelancing with Amber Bryce
In these special episodes of the podcast, I’ll be chatting directly to freelancers at the coal face of the industry, exploring their experiences and tackling the topics that you perhaps don’t hear freelancers shouting about on the likes of Instagram.
My first Frankly Freelance guest is Amber Bryce, a London-based freelance copywriter, journalist and strategist who has worked with clients in news, media and digital spaces including Twitter, The Times and Tesco.
Topics covered my chat with Amber:
✹ Her journey with crippling anxiety
✹ How this has affected her work life + mindset
✹ Coping day to day with anxiety whilst freelancing
✹ Why it’s STILL so hard for us to talk about mental health online and in the workplace
✹ Amber’s top tips for managing your mental health around running a business
“Money wise, I’m really anxious so having savings in case of an emergency comes up is a real relief. It also takes the pressure off so you’re not looking everywhere for work and possibly taking on things that aren’t right for you. It allows you a little bit more freedom with your choices, as well as backup for sick days and holidays”.
Thank you to Amber for being so honest and open about her journey.
If you or someone you know has been affected by any of the themes in this episode, we’ve included some resources below to support you.
