65: Leyla D. Seka | Partner, The Operator Collective
As a Partner at Operator Collective and Co-Founder of the Black Venture Institute, Leyla Seka continues to be at the forefront of solving deep inequalities, specifically addressing the homogeneity that is seen in the income cycle and funding for companies. However, Leyla’s innate conviction for impact came through before, especially during her time as an Executive Vice President at Salesforce, where she led an equal pay initiative that kicked off Salesforce's company-wide salary review, that ultimately corrected the gender-pay disparities.
We cover so much in this amazing episode --- from the changes Leyla made in order to get promoted, her candid and straightforward approach as the only woman in the room, to her mindset when she discovers a “big, nasty” problem that she needs to address. Hint: It’s all about the people!
