Allison and Kate have known each other for several years, initially meeting through a mutual acquaintance at their church. Kate started her running journey because of knee issues and was inspired by a friend who walked a half marathon. She gradually progressed from a 20-minute mile to completing multiple half marathons and even a full marathon by walking them. Kate emphasizes the importance of putting one foot in front of the other and believes that anyone can achieve their goals with determination and training. She has completed races in various states and cherishes the memories of her fastest race in Nashville and her full marathon in Arizona.
Regarding goals, Kate aims to complete at least one half marathon per year and has started intermittent fasting to improve her overall fitness. She also hopes to grow her business, "Hide and Seek Scriptures," which offers personalized scripture cards with individuals' names in them. Kate explains how she was inspired by a set of scripture cards she saw at a friend's house and began making them as gifts. She eventually turned it into a business and has expanded her product range.
Kate encourages others to get out and move, emphasizing the importance of starting and setting small goals to gradually improve. She advises anyone interested in starting walking or running to simply get off the couch and start walking, gradually increasing the distance and pace.
