Ep. 10 - When Church Hurts - #MetoointheChurch
Rewrite Your Story for God's Glory
09/25/19 • 53 min
Chandra Jarrett was sexually abused by a pastor while being counseled about divorce. She felt helpless and violated. Unable to use her voice, she wrote letters to the pastor asking him not to touch her only to be sent to the prayer room. In this episode, Chandra shares how this experience affected her life and how she went from Victim to Victor. It was painful to revisit the pain of her past and forgive this man but as you will hear forgiveness set her free to live a new like and rewrite her story. Chandra now uses the pain of her past to help others by collapsing the time of their healing to live victoriously. She warns people to beware of pastors or leaders who prey on others. Trust the Holy Spirit, know God's word and don't allow people to define God.

Rewrite Your Story for God's Glory
08/21/19 • 45 min
Chandra Jarrett shares that people, places and events of our past are connected to our present and future. Journaling is a great way to write out the plans of life and see them come to pass. She shares her personal story of how June 26 - the date she was diagnosed with breast cancer was the same day God spoke her destiny, 22 years prior, June 26, 1997. Through a series of events, she would discover that June 26 was not a day of death but a day of life, a day of promise, a date with destiny. Chandra encourages listeners to 1) journal - write the vision, 2) draw a timeline of life events, experiences, passions, dreams, etc. and 3) keep living and listening to God as He orders each step to Rewrite Your Story.

Sarah gives an overview of John 11 ( (12:57). She and Sarah discuss highlights from verses 1-44. There are good thoughts and questions to ponder that Sarah and Chandra discuss such as:
- Is the miracle the one we want, or does God have something bigger?
- Do you become discouraged when you know God has the power to do something but He doesn't?
- Sometimes the people closest to us don't understand the miracle God is performing. Listen with caution and trust God.
- A delay may be to increase our faith or the faith of others.
- When we try to control God's timing, we risk eliminating a miracle and taking away glory given to God.
