012. Meaghan Rose: $200K Motive
Explicit content warning
09/04/24 • 42 min
Welcome to our dive into the death of Meaghan Louise Rose.
This could easily be the plot of a Netflix thriller. A suspected suicide turned murder investigation, a beheading, a nationwide manhunt for an alleged killer who slipped through the police net & a half a million dollar reward for his capture.
When our victim Meaghan Rose died back in 1997, her death was initially found to be non-suspicious and was ruled a suicide. It wasn’t until last year in July 2023, 26 years later, that QLD police issued an arrest warrant in her case. With that arrest warrant this case doesn’t currently sit as a whodunit, but rather, a where-is-he?
As the subject of that warrant, 71 yr old Keith Lees, is on the run.
Despite his age, Lees is a convicted murderer and will continue to pose a very real danger to the Australian public, particularly women in the community, until such time as he is apprehended.
We are all responsible for finding him. If you recognise Lees, do NOT approach him. Call triple-0 immediately and notify police of his whereabouts.
The reward offered for for the apprehension & conviction of the person or person's responsible for Meaghan's suspected murder, is $500,000. There is also an indemnity from prosecution on the table for any accomplice to the crime.
If you or someone you know has information pertaining to the circumstances of Meaghan's death, please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Unravelling Murphy's Creek
6 October 2024 marks half a century since Lorraine Wilson & Wendy Evans were murdered at the foothills of the Toowoomba range in 1974. We have one last chance at some form of justice for the girls before this case is lost to time. There are important questions that deserve to be answered, for the girls' sake if no-one else's. Why does this case sit cold and unsolved? How did assumed perpetrator evidence go "missing" from police custody? Why did police destroy 99% of the remaining physical evidence in an open case for which they have an active $250K reward? And why weren't glaring leads followed up on?
Who benefited from this case going absolutely nowhere?
We tried to do this "the right way", behind the scenes. Many incredible people have helped us on the journey so far. People I hope you'll get to meet, because they deserve recognition of their willingness to try and right wrongs that happened decades ago, at the hands of others. The public narrative in the case will have inevitably hindered justice for Lorraine & Wendy. Because it isn't accurate. We aren't asking you blindly believe us, just to listen....and we'll show you.
Going public isn't a strategy. It's our only option left.
