EP34 - Are You A Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)
08/09/22 • 27 min
Are you sensitive to noise and sounds? Are you easily moved by fine arts and classical music? Do certain textures, fabrics, or physical sensations overwhelm your mind and/or body? Are you highly attuned to the thoughts and emotions of those around you? Do you find yourself depleted after highly stimulating events? Do you find that you need quiet time and sensory deprivation after a long day? Do you ever feel like there is just too much going on around you, leading to irritability, overwhelm, stress, and shutting down?
If you said yes to most of these, you may be a highly sensitive person.
Join us as we share what it means to identify as a highly sensitive person (HSP). Highly sensitive persons often feel intensely sensitive across multiple parts of the human experience, including emotional, physical, and social realms. HSP’s often feel overstimulated with much less stimuli than other people. While you cannot change yourself if you are an HSP, you can learn ways to cope and even embrace this part of yourself. Let us give insights to how!
If you find this episode, or any of our other episodes, helpful to you, please share with those that you love! Let us know what you think about what you want us to talk about next by emailing us at [email protected]!
Next Tuesday, we welcome another guest, Karen McMahon, to discuss the decision to mend or end a marriage! Later topics include: parenting, navigating finances as a partnership, self-acceptance, compassion in couples, neurodivergence, navigating milestones as a couple, and so much more!
