Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast and Together We're Gonna Find Our Way: An Unofficial Silver Spoons Podcast
Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Together, We're Gonna Find Our Way: An Unofficial Silver Spoons Podcast. Today, I'm bringing to you Silver Spoons S4E24: Second Best, the Season 4 Finale, which aired on May 11, 1986. In this episode Rick is tired of his girlfriend Holly doing everything better than him. I remember before I covered this episode and just reading the synopsis and thinking "wow, this is how they're gonna end Season 4" This sounds like a dud, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this episode and Holly, Rick's girl of the week, because honestly, let's face it, it seems he's got a new girl he's crushing on every episode, doesn't it? His problem is that she apparently does everything better than him and that doesn't sit well with him. Ok, guys out there, let me ask you a question: does that really bother you, if a girl is better at some things than you? and is that worth breaking off a relationship? Also, we FINALLY have a scene with the piano in the living room being played. I complained all Season long ever since the remodel of the house in Season 4 Episode 2 Mrs. Stratton Builds Her Dream House, that the piano was just for looks and why won't anyone ever play it, and finally someone did. I hope we get to hear it one more time in Season 5, since it's the final season of the show. Speaking of the final Season, as you probably know I've been very busy with a major life change coming up, I'm moving, and when I say moving, I mean I'm moving out of the state, so what that means for the Silver Spoons Podcast is I will be coming back in October and will complete Season 5 in the remaining 3 months of 2020. That means, 2 episodes a week. I'm excited for what's to come in the final Season, hopefully Rick loses that baby mullet he's been growing since the latter half of Season 3. I do believe we get a reappearance of a character we met in Season 4 as well as the final appearances of Evelyn (Rick's Mom) and Grandfather Stratton. Here's a peek at the first episode of Season 5 Episode 1: Who's The Boss?, which aired on September 15, 1986. In this episode Edward resents Kate's success as toy-company head. Have a great week everyone and if you'd like to EMAIL The Podcast,Go To: [email protected]

Full House: S4E12: Danny In Charge (In Honor Of Father's Day and Danny Tanner)

Hey Tanner Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, in honor of Father's Day and Danny Tanner, I'm covering Full House S4E12: Danny In Charge, which aired on December 14, 1990. In this episode Joey and Jesse take a trip to the great outdoors to get footage of a fox for a commercial they're working on for Fox Fax Machines, Danny is alone in caring for the girls for the first time and is being pulled in two by DJ and Stephanie who both have school events on the same day at the same time. What's a father to do? Honestly, it's quite simple, in my mind at least, since he's already seen DJ in a play before he should just go see Stephanie's science fair project, because I feel Stephanie gets the shaft a lot of the time as the middle child. Danny's always super focused on either DJ and Michelle, a prime example of this is in Full House S2E10: Middle Age Crazy. I enjoyed this episode, but felt DJ was being a total selfish brat this episode since she always has the spotlight on her with being the oldest and always has Danny's attention, c'mon and let Steph have this for once. Danny even tells the girls "Now you know, i love all my girls the same, right?" Danny, seriously, stops the lies, we know you favor DJ because she's your first born and also Michelle because she's the baby. All right, well, July is going to be all about cast members birthday episode dedications from Full House and Fuller House. First up, we have Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler) and I will be covering Full House S819: Taking The Plunge, which aired on February 28, 1995. In this episode, it's D.J. to the rescue when she learns that Kimmy plans to elope with her new boyfriend, hoping that marriage will solve all her problems. Joey gets an opportunity to meet the Queen of England. Here's the Lineup for July: July 3: Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler) Full House S8E19: Taking The Plunge July 25: Juan Pablo Di Pace (Fernando) Fuller House S4E9: Perfect Sons July 26: Michael Campion (Jackson Fuller) Fuller House S2E2: Mom Interference July 28: Lori Loughlin (Becky Katsopolis) Full House S8E13: The Producer Have a great week everyone! Diff'rent Strokes: S1E5: The Spanking

Hey Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Diff'rent Strokes To Move The World: An Unofficial Diff'rent Strokes Podcast. Today, I covered S1E5: The Spanking, which aired on December 1, 1978. In this episode Arnold is caught throwing water bombs off the balcony and Mr. Drummond feels that a fitting punishment is a spanking. I really enjoyed this episode as it covered a topic that really isn't mentioned anymore on television, almost to the point of becoming a taboo subject and that is the physical form of child discipline known as spanking. It was more common to hear or see this form of discipline on tv shows back in the day in the 70's and 80's. The only time other than this show that I've see a child being spanked by their parent was the show Roseanne. In Season 6, their at the time youngest child DJ steals the family car and gets caught by the police, Roseanne's anger boils over and she lashes out at DJ by spanking him. Jackie tells Roseanne she was out of control and acting just like their father, which hits Roseanne hard. I covered an episode of Silver Spoons, Season 2, titled Spare The Rod, which dealt with child abuse as the main focus, but leading up to that has Ricky's father Edward ready to tan his son's hide after Ricky breaks a valuable gift that Edward had just bought Kate. Join me next month for a lighter episode in S1E6: Goodbye, Dolly, which aired on December 8, 1978. In this episode after Kimberly donates Arnold's ratty old doll named Homer to charity and it is sold, he can't sleep. Mr. Drummond quickly tires of this, so he hires a detective to try and find the doll. Have a Great July Everyone!
