Yi is a 2nd-year doctoral student in Counseling Psychology at University at Buffalo, SUNY. She was originally from China and has been an international student in the United States since high school.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, minoring in Counseling, East Asian Culture and Asian American Studies, and her Master of Science in Education in Mental Health Counseling, at Indiana University Bloomington.

Her research interests include minorities/people of color, Asian international students, acculturation, bilingualism in counseling and Positive Psychology.

She has a passion towards providing bilingual service to Chinese speaking population. Aside from grad life, she enjoys cooking and hiking. She currently lives in Buffalo, NY with her dog, Luna.
