Ep 30: Reclaiming Our Bodies, Reclaiming Our Pleasure
08/31/21 • 78 min
This week’s episode with Pleasure Activist, Marisa Sullivan, is now one of my favorites!
We discussed how absolutely magical the body’s anatomy is and the many ways in which it was built for pleasure. We also explored how trauma can inhibit pleasure and conception, and practices Marisa uses to help her clients reclaim both.
This episode also introduces the Wheel of Consent, a tool which can support you in feeling more empowered in your body, relationship, and birthing experience. And last, but certainly not least, we discussed an ancient healing tool that can support you in both healing sexual trauma and successfully conceiving.
Not an episode you’ll want to miss!

Ep 31: How Sexual Trauma Shows Up in Pregnancy & Childbirth
Going through loss or infertility is difficult on its own. And having a history of sexual trauma adds even more layers of triggers and emotions to work through. Because these triggers and emotions intensify during pregnancy and childbirth, I want you to be aware of them. When they’re no longer operating in the background, you get to take your power back!
In this episode, I walk you through:
- What triggers and emotions may show up in pregnancy, while you’re giving birth, and in hospital settings in general
- What you can do to overcome triggers/heavy emotions and feel safer within your body
- Forms of support you can enlist to increase the chances of your birth being a healing experience (vs a retraumatizing one)
**Please share this episode with someone who you think might benefit from it. Together, we lift each other higher.
