We go over the tail end of the Caps' recent 7-game win streak as well as some surprise news that happened earlier in the day.

It was another semi-successful week for Our Washington Capitals. Literally. They won half their games in the week. The Mermaid and I go over each win and loss as only we can. Prepare for a caffeine-fueled rundown like no other.

In our Special Segment we go over the reasoning for the recent deals that saw us waving goodbye to Jake the Snake Vrana and Richard Panik. A full evaluation will have to come later as we are, for the most part, withholding judgment.

So how was this week like the movie Moulin Rouge? It started off well enough and ended BAD!

Anna the Mermaid and I go over the week's action on the ice. What went right and what went wrong.

And we might as well get to it---most of the show is dedicated to the idiocy that was the NHL's decision to suspend Tom Wilson (again). But it's not quite what you think....each of us presents a solid breakdown of what is wrong with this entire situation as only we can do. Listen and get mad but hopefully enjoy as well.

Don't give up Caps Fans, we aren't even halfway home yet. And there's a lot of games to be played...and won. Don't stop cheering for our Caps!

We end the month of February on another winning note for our Caps. Anna and I recap another week's worth of action. Our notes include a stinging review of the recent play from a Caps center (hint---it is NOT Backstrom). We also go over the details of a potential Goal of the Year candidate in one of the games.

In the second part of the episode we honor Black History Month as we welcome one newcomer and a familiar voice to the podcast. Listeners Tyron Waller and Stewart Small speak of their experiences as Caps fans and lend their thoughts and ideas as to the state of the sport and what can be done to improve participation and inclusion from the African-American community.

Anna and I go over in our usual crazy way the two games the Caps battled on Long Island and won. Could it be they have finally settled on a No. 1 goaltender?

We also take time to pass along our most positive vibes for one of the greatest fans in DC Sports---Ted Peters AKA Nats Captain Obvious. He's going through a very rough patch health wise and sure could use all of our well wishes.

Finally, in a special "easter egg" segment (because I forgot to mention it initially) we go back in time to talk about another trade that had a big impact on the Caps and their playoff fortunes. Hint----think late 80's.....very late 80s.
