During this episode, we are sharing the monthly live streamed conversation that we host on LinkedIn and YouTube.

You'll be hearing our observations and thoughts on all things Salary Transparency including the below

Let's keep it a buck, most companies are not in favor of Salary Transparency. If they were, then they wouldn't have waited for a Law to be passed. - That said...as of 11/1, the new Salary Transparency law is now active in NYC.
So far...I’m not seeing these ranges on the LinkedIn job posts...but I am seeing them on the company website though. Go on any company career page...search for a job that’s located in NYC...and you’ll see a range for the annual base salary.

During the episode, Odalys and Pabel will explore this and...
- What does all this mean for us?

How to have productive & healthy Salary transparency conversations

Personal experiences when these conversations have been awkward

What do we want to see companies do next?

Intersectionality with AJ Polanco

Welcome to a brand new episode of the ¿Quién Tú Eres? podcast, where we explore the conflict we often face between "professionalism" & being our authentic selves.

This week's guest is AJ Polanco, who's greatest value is designing better ways to serve people. This north star has allowed him to be successful through his 15 years of experience in User Experience and Product Management. He founded and leads a design practice which has delivered over $400 million USD in value across an end-user base of more than 35 million customers. The sectors he’s worked in span education, pharma, hospitality, mixed-reality, fintech, e-commerce, human capital management, real estate, sales, and marketing. His clients run the gamut; from startups to goliaths like ADP, Verizon Wireless, the U.S. Department of Education, Rutgers University, and much more.

Recently, AJ passed his doctoral preliminary exam and was bestowed the status of Doctor of Design (ABD) at North Carolina State University. His academic focus is on Digital Accessibility, and his research is on improving equity for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in the United States. In this same spirit, he loves mentoring and has a passion for teaching. At Rutgers University, he led a Masters of Business and Science degree concentration in User Experience.

On the fun side of things, he also has a black belt in Taekwondo, is a World Taekwondo Federation recognized referee, and has dabbled in Aikido, Budokai, Shindō Yōshin-ryū, and Kung-fu. On a final-final sidenote, he hopes to complete his dissertation by 2023, so that when he walks the aisle with his beautiful fiancé, she will have to say her vows to Dr. Polanco. All in good fun, of course!

Why Are You Surprised with Judge Victoria Pratt

Welcome to a brand new episode of the ¿Quién Tú Eres? podcast, where we explore the conflict we often face between "professionalism" & being our authentic selves.

This week's guest is Judge Victoria Pratt.

Driven. Innovative. Inspiring. These are a few of the words used to describe Judge Victoria Pratt who has gained national and international acclaim for her commitment to reforming the criminal justice system. During her tenure as the Chief Judge in Newark Municipal Court in Newark, New Jersey, she spent years gaining a deep understanding of how justice could be delivered to court participants in a manner that increased their trust in the legal system and changed their behavior. While presiding over Newark Community Solutions, the Community Court Program, she used creative problem solving to provide alternatives to jail to low-level offenders. These alternatives included community service, individual and group counseling sessions, and her signature assignment of introspective essays. Called a pioneer in procedural justice, her respectful approach, and treating individuals with dignity has had a positive effect on court participants’ court experience, how the community viewed the court and how court players viewed their roles. Her TED Talk, How Judges Can Show Respect, has gone viral. It has been translated into 11 languages, received over one million views and the Facebook clip has received an astounding 21 million views.

A fierce advocate committed to reform, Pratt has worked with jurisdictions across the nation, and as far as Ukraine, England, Trinidad and Tobago, and Mexico. In that role she facilitates workshops and presentations on alternative sentencing for juveniles and adults, as well as procedural justice.

As a nationally recognized expert in procedural justice and alternative sentencing, Judge Pratt has been asked by numerous professional organizations to share her story and philosophy. Pratt’s work has been featured in The Guardian newspaper, The Simple Idea that Could Transform U.S. Criminal Justice, and Rutgers Magazine, Asking for a Little Respect, both written by Pulitzer prize winning author Tina Rosenberg. She has also appeared on MSNBC’s the Melissa Harris Perry Show, the Emmy-award winning PBS show Due Process- Community Court: A Kinder, Gentler Way? and National Public Radio’s WBGO: Conversations with Allan Wolper.

Now, a Professor at Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey, she teaches Problem Solving Justice and Restorative Justice. She also continues to champion criminal justice reform through her consulting firm Pratt Lucien Consultants, LLC, by sharing her skills and approach with others. As well as speaking to leaders of institutions and organizations about how to heighten and restore respect into their day-to-day operations so that their mission can be better achieved.

Pratt is licensed to practice law in both New Jersey and New York, and is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court. She also facilitates Mountain Movers empowerment sessions to help individuals live their best lives.
