This week we are joined by Dr Jacques Otto, Medical Director of IntraVita a medical extraordinaire who has introduced a multitude treatments to the UK, training over 2000 practitioners.
Dr Jacques Otto is a highly qualified Medical Doctor (MBChB) he graduated in 1981 from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. He also completed a Masters Degrees in Family Doctor Practice (Pretoria), Medical Pharmacology (Pretoria) and Philosophy in Medical Law (Glasgow) as well as postgraduate diplomas in Member of the Faculty of General Practitioners (CMSA), Forensic Medicine (CMSA) and Sedation and Pain Control (Stellenbosch).
Dr Otto has given several lectures and conducted masterclass live demonstrations at major international conferences. He has also participated in international clinical trials as Principal Investigator for the EU’s CE-Mark including for (1) the Ultrashape non-invasive focused ultrasound lipolysis device (2005) and (2) he recently completed in 2015 the Lumenis Ltd SlimMe non-invasive parallel ultrasound lipolysis device clinical study; “The Safety and Efficacy of Adipose Tissue Thermal Lipolysis by Ultrasound for Circumference Reduction: An Open Label, Single-Arm, and Exploratory Study.”
His main interests consist of researching new anti-ageing and non-invasive cosmetic products and he has been an advisor/consultant/trainer for Isolagen Europe Ltd, Cosmesis Ltd, UltraShape Inc, Aesthera Inc. and MyCells PRP Laboratories. He introduced the cosmetic indication of platelet-rich plasma to the UK in 2006. In the beginning of 2014 Dr Otto introduced the use of absorbable multi-directional barbed (COG) PDO threads in the UK and he has since trained in excess of 2000 practitioners in the UK and internationally.
