She holds an MSW, is a certified nutrition coach and personal trainer, group fitness fanatic, busy mom of four, author of Sprouts in the Kitchen: Plant-based Family Favourites, and founder of Journey Health Studio - a completely online health studio offering 1:1 health coaching, challenge groups, as well as live-streamed and on-demand group fitness classes. After overcoming health challenges through diet, she shifted her professional interests to focus on the power of nutrition. She pursued a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate at eCornell and obtained a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical and Public Health Nutrition from the University College of London. Dr. Leila takes a holistic approach to understand her clients’ needs and helps them optimize their well-being, and prevent or recover from lifestyle diseases. Dr. Leila is passionate about food justice and health equity and aims to find effective ways to address racial and socio-economic issues that affect health. Her project “Athletes, Food & Diversity” seeks to introduce a plant-based diet to people of the global majority.
