616 | What Are You Magnifying?
10/13/23 • 12 min
In this episode, I am sharing a thought I heard about what are you magnifying and focusing on. Your past mistakes are meant to guide you not define you. “One's past does not define them... it is what they have chosen to do from that point forward.” ~unknown
In today’s episode, we discuss:
1) Where your focus goes your energy flows. You can learn from your past mistakes, but amplifying them with a magnifying glass, overanalyzing them, hyperfocusing on them is not going to change your story. At some point, you have to recognize that it is part of your story, part of your journey. 2) The power of zooming out, standing in the gain recognizing how far you have come, and honoring what that experience taught you. 3) What if you amplified your assets, your gratitudes, your lessons, your experiences, your unique qualities, your superpowers, etc., what/how would that change your future? 617 | The Catalyst For My Solo Book
In this episode, I am sharing the back story behind this writing, my Bestselling solo book, When She Stopped Asking Why, the following collaborative books, and where we are going and the direction we are moving in. The early steps had to happen first, and “we can only connect the dots looking back” Steve Jobs.
In today’s episode, we discuss:
1) Writing was never my strong suit, I wrote my first collab chapter in 2016, followed by 2 more before I committed to writing my solo book in 2017. Writing a collab chapter is actually harder than it looks to contain one piece of your story into one chapter of 2-3,000 words. It felt natural to want to move towards sharing more of the story in my own book, yet still very scary to commit to that big of a project. 2) Always be mindful of who you share your biggest desires with, especially when they are not the people you are meant to share your journey with, the quote seasons, reasons and lifetimes really fits with this time in my life. I am also sharing the wall-kicking moments, how it required me to be quieter and create space, and how the cover changed at the very last minute, all signs that I was meant to trust what I could not see yet. 3) This is one of the areas that I talk to people and they say they have had a lifelong vision of wanting to write a book, yet fear, the unknown, lack of confidence, or overwhelm is stopping them. If you are ready to look at the opportunity to write and share your story with the world, especially if your goal is to impact, reach, and help others, this is the space for you.
