Austism Awareness + Pushing Outside The Comfort Zone with Ryan Steiner

Why is there so much misinformation about the autistic community? What does autism really look like?
Ryan Steiner stops by the No Excuses Podcast to share his experience as an autistic man, his commitment to educating the public during Autistic Awareness month and his journey with his autistic daughter Kala. Ryan brings his daughter on his long runs and has achieved a major weight loss transformation. He’s currently training for his first Tough Mudder event this summer.
"I don’t like to be touched, but I’ve learned that I change the most when I push myself into uncomfortable situations. The first time I saw anything Tough Mudder I thought that would be exhilarating... I’d be terrified the whole time."

Exploring Psychedelics for Addiction, PTSD + Athletics with Dr. Albert Garcia-Romeu

Why are psychedelics still so taboo? Can they really be used to improve our mental health? Is there a place for psychedelics in the fitness world?

We’re sitting down with Albert Garcia-Romeu, Ph.D., a member of the Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences faculty at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, to answer these questions and more.
Dr. Garcia-Romeu studies the effects of psychedelic drugs in humans, with a focus on psilocybin as an aid in the treatment of addiction and PTSD. He tells Sean the history of psychedelics, why they were banned in the first place, and how he hopes they’ll be integrated into our every day life.
You can find more about Dr. Albert Garcia Romeu here.
