Neuro Queering: Beyond the Intersection of Neurodiversity and Queerness
Pasha Marlowe, MFT
Get ready to EXPAND your mind! The word NEUROQUEER goes beyond the intersection of neurodiversity and queerness. Neuroqueering is the practice of queering (subverting, defying, disrupting, liberating oneself from) neuronormativity, cisnormativity, and heteronormativity, and more!
Through the lens of the neurodiversity paradigm and the social model and in conversations with neurodiversity-affirming professionals, we are going to challenge, rethink, and reframe systems and institutions. We are going to talk about accessibility and ableism, inclusion and belonging, and ways we can lean into curiosity and compassion at work, home, and in our communities.
Neuroqueering is also about being in our pleasure, tapping into comedy and creativity, so we hope these conversations are educational, engaging, and entertaining. This podcast is hosted by Pasha Marlowe (she/they), MFT, marriage and family therapist turned neurodivergent coach, queer autistic ADHDer, mama bear to 3 neurodivergent humans, and someone who gets instantly bored if they are not learning and unlearning.

#58 "If We Are Not Known, We Are Alone" with Shari Foos, MFT
Neuro Queering: Beyond the Intersection of Neurodiversity and Queerness
11/14/21 • 37 min
Shari Foos is a Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of The Narrative Method.
She and I have a vulnerable and lively discussion about our shared experiences as therapists, children with trauma, storytellers, and humorists. Shari's work is fascinating and in complete alignment with my philosophy and passions. This was a thrill for me to connect with another human on such a deep level.
In this episode, you will learn about the power of a story from a new perspective. Shari first explains the difference between Narrative Therapy, Narrative Method, and Narrative Medicine, all of which are steeped in the values of storytelling, empathy, and inclusion.
We then talked about our traumatic upbringings and how we used humor to heal and how we now lead with vulnerability to connect with others.
As humans, we have a desire to be known. If we mask or armor up and never show our authentic selves, we can not be fully known or loved, and we will thus feel alone.
Share your pain and joys.
Share your shame and laughter.
Explore "Wonderland", the place inside of you where imagination lives, where you celebrate your most creative and truest self and then SHARE it with the world.

#12 - Libby Bunten - “PLEASURE in TERROR and THRILL"
Neuro Queering: Beyond the Intersection of Neurodiversity and Queerness
03/10/21 • 50 min
I begin this episode by courageously reading from my personal diary about the day Libby inspired me to release years of body shame. We talk about the impact of one woman’s self approval and how a simple act of brave visibility can liberate many. We laugh about how alike we are in finding pleasure in things that both thrill and terrify us.
“We teach best what we need most”, says Libby, who works in feminine leadership, and is working on becoming certified as an erotic blueprint coach and Jedi Sex Master. She has a superpower of being present in intuition and “dropping right into people and seeing the real story”. Libby brings pleasure, sensuality, and flirtiness into her work and empowers other women to do the same. We spend some time crushing and swooning over our coaches Megan Jo Wilson (Rockstar Camp) and Mama Gena (School for Womanly Arts) and honor their work.
Libby is a highly accomplished independent consultant in the global online business world with Arbonne and her passion is to strengthen the lives of women in her local community and beyond. Raised in a quintessential Maine coastal town, Libby always did “whatever it took” to make a living and get the job done. Before a career in social marketing, she did everything from manual labor to freelance writing. A brief stint in a toxic, patriarchal, corporate work environment propelled Libby to pursue an MS in Clinical Psychology which ultimately led to her work in feminist leadership development with like-minded, independent and irreverent women. When she isn't cheering women on, you can find her traveling with her Hebrew Hunk, Paul, singing karaoke, or in deep surrender to the abyss that is the journey of healing.

#7 - Angela Locashio - PLEASURE “Taboos”
Neuro Queering: Beyond the Intersection of Neurodiversity and Queerness
02/20/21 • 38 min
This was an expansive conversation with Angela Locashio, Clinical Sexologist. She and I have the unique perspective of life in the military (Angela a current military wife, Pasha prior in her first marriage) and other constructs that hold us back from full expression of self. We talk about moving through the stress cycle to prevent illness and pain, pleasure “taboos”, and the idea that you can’t have pleasure in the bedroom if you can’t find pleasure outside of the bedroom.
Angela Locashio - Mama Pistachio - (she/her) is a Trauma-informed Educator, Certified Coach, and Clinical Sexologist who helps womxn move through stress, shame, fear, and guilt so they can reach their maximum pleasure potential in and out of the bedroom.

#17: "Impact of ADHD and RSD on Relationships"
Neuro Queering: Beyond the Intersection of Neurodiversity and Queerness
02/03/23 • 36 min
Pasha Marlowe, MFT, AuDHD and Neuroqueer Coach, specializes in coaching neurodivergent couples where one or both is ADHD and/or autistic. Her online program "Same Bed, Different Brains" has helped many couples move from the brink of divorce to a place of deeper understanding, acceptance, and intimacy. Pasha's coaching and teaching style is collaborative, inclusive, queer-friendly, sex and trauma informed, and often humorous.
In this "hard love" episode, Pasha reveals personal and professional insights on the impact of ADHD and RSD (Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria) on a relationship. She explores common dynamics seen in neurodivergent couples, such as the "parent-child dynamic", lying to avoid conflict and/or intimacy, fear-shame-anger spirals, and the insidious RSD cycle (trauma-people pleasing-burnout-rejection).
Pasha shares her most effective tools in managing ADHD ad RSD and reiterates that while ADHD is an explanation, not an excuse, BOTH partners have to come to the relationship with 100% effort towards understanding each other's brains.

#62 "Laugh Till Tears Run Down Your Legs" with Carla White
Neuro Queering: Beyond the Intersection of Neurodiversity and Queerness
01/27/22 • 51 min
This is not your daughter's podcast!
This one is for midlife women who have been through life's SHITASTROPHIES and have come out the other side with a sense of humor and a fierce zest for life.
Get ready to laugh about death, chronic overthinking, and wordle!
And a bonus braless dance party at the end!
Yes, you can ALWAYS watch my episodes on YouTube as well!
You are going to love Carla White! Carla is a wellness expert, a humourist (with a U since she is from Canada), and speaker. She previously worked in health care as a nurse and real life firefighter. Seriously!
Carla takes "try new things" to the next level.
She wrote and performed the one woman comedy show "Shut The F*ck Up: Confessions of An Angry Housewife".
She is the author of the best selling book "Reignite Your Spark".
And, oh, and she worked with Jack Canfield, America's leading authority on success and personal fulfillment training. In fact, Jack was the one who encouraged her to follow her passion to be a comedian.
Carla knows how to live out loud!
I asked Carla what would scare her and she said "What would scare me the most is not seeing the fear anymore. I want to be able to face the fear and do it anyway." ROAR!
We had a soulful conversation about healing with humor and how a mental health crisis was the catalyst moment that led us to comedy and how moments of our deepest grief transformed into moments of laughter. Life is a TRAUMEDY.
Please SHARE, review, and subscribe to this whole-hearted and hilarious podcast:)

#16 - Laughter Through Tears
Neuro Queering: Beyond the Intersection of Neurodiversity and Queerness
03/23/21 • 35 min
Pasha’s first episode is raw and vulnerable. She explains why laughter through tears is her favorite emotion and her painful catalyst moment is revealed. She bravely shares details of her son’s chronic illness and how behind the scenes of the pleasure podcast is often quite messy and dark. She talks about how to sprinkle pleasure on even the hardest of days and describes her own personal pleasure practices (no, it is NOT yoga, baths, and masturbation). She shares the secret of why she was sad AND glad the pandemic happened when it did.
Pasha tells the secrets of how play and humor can make you a better leader, parent, and lover and help rejuvenate your mind and body (thus one of the best ways to make money, lose weight, and have better sex!). She explains how to learn to play with yourself and enjoy your own company...and have fun already!
From her times as a professional performer, competitive triathlete, marriage and family therapist, holistic trainer, and now midlife laughter and pleasure coach, Pasha has decades of experience healing people using creative and embodied methods. Pasha is moved to tears and laughter in this episode where she invites you into her heart and speaks directly to those of you who are hurting right now who need a unique way to access pleasure and laughter.

#7: "Midlife Women Gone Wild, Neurodivergent, and Queer and Ready to Burn Things Down"
Neuro Queering: Beyond the Intersection of Neurodiversity and Queerness
11/20/22 • 19 min
A spontaneous and raw solo episode packed with vulnerability and courage. This is my most personal and favorite episode yet and one that I believe will speak to midlife women who are considering "burning it all down" (systems, institutions, careers, marriages) in the name of justice, authenticity, and pleasure!
If you or someone you love has gone through deep transformation over these past years and has moved through anxiety, trauma, hormonal changes, and identity changes, this episode is for you. And if you, like me, came out recently as neurodivergent (ADHD/Autism) and queer/LGBTQIA+ and are ready to finally live OUT LOUD, aligned, and integrated, get ready to feel seen and lit up!
