My Own Garms

In this episode of Fit Pic Breakdown, we sit down with JoJo Elgarice of Rag Parade Sheffield to dive into three of his most memorable outfits. From rocking Evisu jeans as a teen to styling CP Company’s Mille Miglia jacket, to meeting UK hip-hop legend Skinnyman, JoJo takes us through his fashion evolution.

👕 Outfit Breakdown:
🔥 Look 1: Teenage JoJo in Evisu & vintage finds – was this the start of his fashion obsession?
🔥 Look 2: The CP Company shoot – rocking a Mille Miglia racing jacket & military gear.
🔥 Look 3: Meeting Skinnyman – Wu-Wear, hip-hop, & skate culture influence.

🚀 Topics Covered:
✔️ The golden era of Evisu & early streetwear
✔️ What makes CP Company jackets legendary
✔️ How skateboarding & hip-hop shaped his style
✔️ The funniest (and worst) fashion choices he’s made

Jojo Elgarice - Rag Parade: The Buzz of Vintage Hunting, Fashion Stories & John Lennon's Lost Cape

Now then!! What’s happening? What’s good? This week, I’m chatting to JoJo Elgarice. Steel City’s foremost flogger of rare and vintage garms.

JoJo’s shop Rag Parade sells a really broad range of gear with a real singularity of vision. To buy and sell really nice things. I met JoJo for about 15 seconds when I was leathered at vintage fair in Stoke Newington a few weeks ago but I’ve been drooling over the stuff he sells on his Instagram for a good few years. Today we’ll discover where his deep love for garms comes from and what shapes his tastes today...

Last week I mentioned our new Substack on the outro. Thanks to everyone that’s been on and made pals with us over there. We’ve got articles and links to stuff we talk about in the episodes and we’re working on new stuff at the moment so go and have a butcher’s hook.
Big thanks as ever to the series sponsors Trailberg for making what we do on My Own Garms a bit less financially crushing. Appreciate you lot a lot! Go and drop em a follow @trailbergofficial - legends!!

Okay. Let’s get into this one then. This is My Own Garms with Sheffield’s own, JoJo Elgarice...

Thanks Jojo for the time and thanks to the lovely people at Eve’s Kitchen for the brews and the recording space.

I’ve not really mentioned it on here but what do you reckon to the recording setups for this series? Instead of booking a hotel out and getting the guests to come to us, we’ve been getting about the country and setting up where our guests are at. Do you reckon it’s better? Prefer it the old way? Let us know in the comments or in the reviews. Would love to hear what you think.
Okay, you know the drill, we’ll drop another mini episode with JoJo in a couple of days so make sure you’re subscribed to the feed for that one cos it’s a banger. See ya back here for that. X

Alina Akbar (Lean0161): Fashion, Film, Fabrics & Identity – My Own Garms Podcast

On this week's ep, I’m chatting to auteur Alina Akbar, aka Lean0161. Alina is an artist from the North West of England. She documents her life and community using photography and filmmaking, AND she also dresses sick. Loads of well-chosen sports and terrace wear worn in really interesting ways, which all, in turn, add to her own sense of story.

I’m buzzing for you lot to hear about Alina’s story and see how clothes have shaped and reflected her life and her art. From documenting communities through her lens to collaborating with brands like C.P. Company and Nike, Alina shares her journey growing up in the North, the role of clothing in her art, and how her Pakistani heritage influences her creative vision.

We also talk Stone Island, tent pegging, and what makes a piece of clothing truly iconic. Tune in for a deep dive into Alina’s world of film, fashion, and self-expression.

Halfway through Series 4 here! Hope you lot are loving it so far. If you are, then you can always leave us a review on Spotify or the Apple Podcasts app. We’ve only got about 4 on there at the moment, so go and show us a bit of love, please. Nice one.

And nice one to Trailberg, who’re supporting Series 4 of the podcast. Really appreciate the belief and the trust they’ve shown, and hopefully, we can do more cool stuff together in the near future.

Right then, let’s get into it. This is Alina Akbar on My Own Garms...
