What Did You Learn In 2020

Motivational Moments with Maria

What did you learn about yourself this year? Come on it’s the end of the historical year. I know many of you are looking forward to 2021 and saying goodbye to 2020. As the car ad says .....make it a December to remember however in this case it’s the entire year to remember. I will ask again, what did you learn about yourself this year. Who showed up? It is time to reflect on your own personal journey of 2020. Last week I asked my clients to reflect on the year and share their story on how they showed up this year. How did they react during the trauma filled, emotional year? So let me run this with you. Take a moment to think about where you were and what you were doing when the announcement came out that you were locked in to your home? What was your initial reaction? What emotions came up for you? Was it anger, fear, disbelief, anxiety?

Determination Determines Your Destiny

Determination determines your destiny. Something triggers your lack of determination. After all, determination is to your success as oxygen is to your life. What do you think causes us to lose our determination? Newton’s Law of Physics says that an object in motion stays in motion.....well the opposite is also true. An object at rest, stays at rest. When you stop it is sometimes very difficult to raise yourself up again. Sometimes you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed with all you have to do. I totally understand. We have all been there. It feels better to do nothing or procrastinate. However, determined individuals, like you, know that doing something, no matter how small, reactivates the mind and body and pushes you to take the next step. I saw this quote in Pure Happy Life yesterday and it sums it up. “Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tip toe if you must, but take the step.

Are You Ready for 2021?

The New Year is here, The New Year is here. Are you ready for 2021? Did you write down all your resolutions for the New Year and prepared to have an awesome 2021? What are you most excited about? The new year is here and we are at the starting line. The whistle has blown, the fireworks are over and now it’s time to let 2020 go. It’s in the past, done, fini, over. The money has been spent, the checks have been cashed. There is no going back and holding on to yesterday. As the great humorist Will Rogers said, “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.”
