Krista Williams & Jenn Perna

Welcome to the Moms In Motion podcast! Your hosts are Krista Williams (pregnancy & postpartum athleticism coach) and Jenn Perna (pelvic floor physical therapist). We are running our businesses, running our households, and trying not to run ourselves into the ground while juggling it all. We are here to support you through all stages of motherhood with honest, relatable, and sometimes unfiltered conversations.
Tune into this show weekly so we can help you build your village, reconnect with your mom bod, and possibly even navigate business ownership and motherhood, better.
We are located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, and refer to each other constantly to best support moms in the area. We believe the relationship between a personal trainer specializing in working with moms, and pelvic floor PT is an absolute must for moms to thrive in motherhood. Please remember that this show is not meant to treat or diagnose any medical condition, so don't ever hesitate to contact your own provider team with any concerns.

We are excited to bring you another guest for a series of episodes on nutrition, which is one of our most requested topics! Today we are hosting Kelly Jones, board certified sports dietitian who works with athletes, families, and busy moms.
As a nationally recognized nutrition expert, Kelly is regularly featured in outlets such as US News, Runner’s World, Men’s and Women’s Health, Insider, and more. She often appears on broadcast news shows, busting myths and showcasing the ease of incorporating nutrient dense foods into busy, active lifestyles. Kelly has created medical fitness programs for internationally recognized fitness clubs and consults with sports organizations such as Major League Baseball and global corporations like Google. Additionally, Kelly aids companies with nutrition communications messaging, serves on scientific nutrition advisory boards, and partners with likeminded brands as a media spokesperson.
Kelly is a mom of 2 young boys, former Division 1 athlete, and has worked with both Krista and Jenn for her pregnancy/postpartum fitness and pelvic PT needs.
This episode is part 1 of 3, and touches on what you need to know to support your body's nutrition needs through all stages of motherhood.

We get asked all the time... "Do I really have to do this?" Meaning taking the time for intentional rehab postpartum, before returning to 'regular' exercise. No matter who you are, what you did or didn't do during pregnancy, and how much you know about what happened to your body during birth, no mom is exempt from the need to rebuild a solid foundation before returning to whatever you used to do.
It can be frustrating when you are not feeling like yourself and just want some normalcy, but progressing too quickly in an effort to "bounce back' will likely bite you in the ass long term. If you are an expecting mom, new mom, or have a friend that is running past your house at 4 weeks postpartum, this episode is a must listen!
If you are local and need help - schedule/request a PT Eval at Vivid HERE, or get on the waitlist for the January session of Diapers to Dumbbells HERE!

Happy New Year! We are pumped to finish 2024 with 60 episodes! Thank you for being here and please rate and review us to show some love when you get a chance.
Today, we are talking about unrealistic expectations that moms put on themselves post-baby. Sorry to break it to you, but your body that had babies is likely never going to go back to looking like it didn't have babies! Stop comparing yourself to the 20-something version of you that had tons of free time to workout and eat exactly the way you wanted to, and likely also didn't experience physical trauma or high stress levels. You can have goals, but they need to focus on your overall health and wellness first, and then the aesthetic changes will follow. Let us know how we can support your goals in 2025 - we are cheering for you!
