Deliberate Discomfort
06/12/19 • 27 min
When it comes to doing things for ourselves, we rarely push through when we’re met with discomfort. We make the discomfort mean stop, slow down, or quit, instead of using discipline and deliberate discomfort to get us to our goals.
When you go after a goal, like designing your dream life, it means you’re creating something new and different. Naturally, you’re going to be scared, there will be failure and rejection and discomfort.
It’s important to not make slowing down or having obstacles mean something and just let it be the discomfort that is inevitably going to happen when there is growth involved. Assign meaning to whatever you want, but do it to your advantage instead of your disadvantage.
This means you stop making obstacles, failures, and discomfort of pursuing your goals mean you’re out of alignment and something has gone wrong.
If you get really good at experiencing negative emotion, without being afraid of it, you won’t avoid, resist, or react to it.
You’ll learn to plan for deliberate discomfort and welcome growth with open arms.

Leave When You're Happy
The truth about endings is that they are always going to happen.
Just like the seasons changing, you’re going to go through seasons of your life that end.The key is to accept that they happen (and are supposed to happen) and to not make them mean something has gone wrong.
When it comes time to leave something behind in your life, only you are going to know when that is. There is no right time to leave.
The more you say no to things that no longer serve you, the better off you will be. You will become more resilient when you don’t depend on things that can change. By allowing yourself to be happy when leaving something, you get to do what you want to do, when you want to do it.
The practice of leaving something when you’re happy becomes easier over time.
In this episode, I show you how to practice leaving when you’re happy. You’ll no longer be leaving jobs or relationships because they’re bad, but rather because they’ve served their purpose in your life and you’re ready for your next level.

Creating A Being List
When you’re designing your dream life, it’s likely that you have a list of goals that you want to achieve. It’s great to be aware of your goals, but there may be a big disconnect standing in your way of achieving them.
If you’re not becoming the person who has the results you want before going after your goals, then you won’t achieve the results you’re looking for.
Taking action from where you are right now is a mistake. You must become the person you want to become, think and feel their emotions and then create action from that place.
The solution to becoming the person you want to be is by creating a “Being List.”
A “Being List” is your list of thoughts and feelings you need to have in order to be the person you want to achieve the goal you’re working on.
In this episode, you'll learn exactly how to create your own “Being List” to finally achieve the results you’ve been working towards.
