Episode 28 - ModernJeeper Cory Moul, the Man who Leads an Army of Jeepers to Bring Us Colorado's All-4-Fun
08/08/19 • 82 min
Hello ModernJeepers, welcome to Episode Number 28 of The ModernJeeper Show... the show about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers.
This week Corey & Matson catch up on recent events and go over Corey’s upcoming six week East Coast CTI Tour. Then they are joined by Cory Moul, who was essentially born into Colorado’s 63 year old Mile-Hi Jeep Club, a club that not only has one of the best organizations we’ve ever seen, but also has one of the largest active paid memberships in the nation. Cory is a five time chairman of All-4-Fun one of the oldest off road events in the world having just finished their 53rd Annual in Buena Vista, Colorado.
Cory shares with us why it takes 200 volunteers to run All-4-Fun, what they’ve learned after 53 years, why change is hard but good, the brilliant idea to use challenge coins for organizing runs, how a local Jeep Dealership was responsible for the formation of the club, what are Patrols and why they were formed, with fires threatening in 2018 how they successfully changed the venue for All-4-Fun only 5 weeks from the event, how to stop political infighting between clubs and groups, how much they’ve raise for the Children’s Burn Camp, how he thinks the CTI trailer should be used to help raise money for causes across the nation, and why, out of five grandkids his late grandad would say he was the smartest.
And of course we have our Tech Tip of the Week... Understanding the domino effect of your upgrade and what you should think about before adding that other part right before a big trip.

Episode 27 - The Flashback Episode with ModernJeepers and Jeep Builders Keith and Pauline of Jones Jeep, Marble Falls, Texas
Hello ModernJeepers, welcome to Episode Number 27 of The ModernJeeper Show... the show about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers.
This week is another special Flashback Episode. Back when ModernJeeper was just a nascent website and the idea of a podcast was just a whim, I interviewed several industry leaders while at the 2015 Off Road Expo in Pomona, California.
Each interview was about 30 minutes long, and was conducted from a table at Metalcloak’s 20 x 30 booth right in the middle of the show and you can clearly hear all the action going on around us.
In this Flashback Episode, we decided to interview one of Metalcloak’s top jobbers at the time and Texas’ top Jeep builders, Keith and Pauline Jones of Jones Jeep in Marble Falls, Texas. This was a unique interview because Keith and Pauline had just driven their JK’s 1300 miles from Texas to Off Road Expo in Southern California along with an entourage from the Crawler Crew customer club and we thought it would be cool to share their story and their passion.
Keith and Pauline share how they went from being Jeep Builders to Trail Guides, how their shop in a small town of 6500 people attracts customer from all over the state, how they scored a property at the entrance of Hidden Falls Adventure Park to build their new shop, how building Jeeps for local officials can help business, what their favorite Jeep trail is (it’s not one you’ve probably heard of), what dolomite is and why tires like it, how to succeed in the Jeep build business by being selective in what you work on and the products you sell, and what 220 MPH feels like on a Texas drag strip.
Even though this interview was done in 2015, Keith & Pauline are still going strong in the Jeep building business and are about to launch some new initiatives in the coming months. Keep an eye out for what comes next from this enterprising couple of ModernJeepers.
