Episode 10 - Tires 101 from Milestar's Andrew Hoit - Tire Geek, ModernJeeper, and Club 3633 member (whatever that is).
03/27/19 • 102 min
Hello Modern Jeepers welcome to Episode Number 10 of The ModernJeeper Show... the show about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers.
This week Mr. ModernJeeper, Corey Osborne, and Matson Breakey of Metalcloak recount last weekends events including Crawling for Reid and the sold out Metalcloak Stampede, Corey’s Tough Mudder experience and why Arby’s had an impact on our lives.
Then we are joined by Milestar Tires’ Andrew Hoit to discuss his 25 year tire career, how he became a tire geek, how he spent $2 Million on Porsche’s, understanding tire durometer and compounds, the real challenge in making a 40” tire, why Milestar is called a Tier 3 company with a Tier 2 product, what is a black label tire, personal career management & decision making, what his favorite personal Jeep has been, why he went from four jeeps in his stable to only two, and what Club 3633 is all about.
And, of course, we have another great Tech Tip of the Week. Since we have the tire guru at our disposal, we ask him to teach us all about load ratings... and the answer may not be what you expect.
As always we are extremely grateful to our partners including Raceline Wheels, Warn Winches, Bestop, Milestar Tires, Rugged Radios and, of course, Metalcloak.
So, sit back, relax with a cold one, and enjoy Episode number 10 of The ModernJeeper Show...

Episode 9 - The Random Show, A Random Discussion About Jeeps, Jeeping & Jeepers
Hello Modern Jeepers, Matson here, and welcome to Episode Number 9 of The ModernJeeper Show... the show about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers.
This week is a little different... this week we are having what is best described as a Random Show... which means there is no guest, there is no agenda, there is no primary topic... there is only the random thoughts and ideas and discussions between Corey and I about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers... and the stuff we think is cool, interesting and worth sharing.
We hope you enjoy this random discussion that includes smoking winches, breaking into the off road industry, and why Corey was with two guys and a bucket of lube in the tire shop.
And, of course, we have another great Tech Tip of the Week. If you tow a trailer, you’ll want to listen to this one.
As always we are extremely grateful to our partners including Raceline Wheels, Warn Winches, Bestop, Milestar Tires, Rugged Radios and, of course, Metalcloak.

Episode 11 - ModernJeeper Mr. Greg Cottrell - Owner of Rugged Radios, Custom Car Addict, MMA Fighter and the Man who Never Stops.
Hello Modern Jeepers, Matson here, and welcome to Episode Number 11 of The ModernJeeper Show... the show about Jeeps, Jeeping and Jeepers.
This week Mr. ModernJeeper, Corey Osborne, is once again on the road, hanging out at Arby’s, and discussing the upcoming Unlimited Off Road Expo in Texas, the Jeep Gladiator pricing and their $100,000 Launch Edition giveaway, and what we expect to see at Easter Jeep Safari this year.
Then we are joined by the owner of Rugged Radios, Mr. Greg Cottrell. We break down his 25 year career in the communications business, how he was born into the off-road industry, why you absolutely would hate living where he lives, why he’s looking forward to street tacos and coffee, why the engine in his ’32 really isn’t, how his life experiences influence his builds, what he truly thinks of the Gladiator, what UHF, VHF and GMRS is and which one he is betting the future on, why the world is evolving away from CB, how his eyesight affected his life, and what really makes Rugged Radios the standout company it is.
And, of course, we have another great Tech Tip of the Week. Greg helps us understand antennas and how to go about tuning your antenna, CB or radio, with a SWR Meter.
