This week we continue our Generosity Series as we sit down with Men of Iron advocate Corby Ziegler. All this month we are talking about Biblical generosity and what it means to be generous. Corby has been involved with Men of Iron for over 15 years."I remember seeing the difference in men's lives as they went through Men of Iron at my church."Corby started investing financially in Men of Iron over the years and eventually got even more involved. Corby had the opportunity a couple years later to go through an executive mentorship with Men of Iron. Corby knew it was the right time to go to the next level."Before Men of Iron I believe I was a good father and husband, but Men of Iron equipped me to be even better."After going through a Men of Iron mentorship Corby realized the importance of this program for all men, and it led him to become a monthly partner with Men of Iron. Being a monthly partner has provided him a constant commitment to give to a program he believes in. Corby's dream for Men of Iron and his church, is for every man to be mentored or be a mentor. "If we are not pouring into another man's life, or allowing another man to sharpen us, we get pretty stagnant."If this podcast has impacted you in a positive way, please take the time to leave us a rating and a reviewIf you are struggling in your role as a husband, father or leader, we would love to be a resource for you, contact us today – menofiron.org/contact-us\You can now watch the Men of Iron Podcast on YouTube – www.youtube.com/@men_of_iron. This week we finish our series on "The Four Man-Killers" that will knock men off their adventure to know God and their purpose. Week 3 we talked about Overcoming Lust, this week we talk about Overcoming Addiction. Webster describes addiction as a compulsive, exhibiting a compulsive, chronic, physiological or psychological need for a habit-forming substance, behavior, or activity. Addiction can cause anxiety, irritability, tremors, or nausea upon withdrawal or abstinence. Men, addiction WILL rob of us of the most important things in life.We can even be addicted to good things – career, fitness, hunting, hobbies. Being devoted or dedicated other than God is idolatry. God truly wants what's best for you. What are you spending your time doing? What are you putting before your relationship with God? We are ALL susceptible to addiction and we are all susceptible to things that can draw our attention away from what's most important. How do we overcome or stay clear of addiction:#1 – Take inventory of your time and desires#2 – Put God first#3 – Run towards what's good#4 – Establish positive habits in your life#5 – Seek out community and accountability (if you have serious addiction issues, seek professional help)You can now watch the Men of Iron Podcast on YouTube! Support our mission to change a culture, one man at a time – https://menofiron.org/donateJoin us for the conclusion of The Wives Restoration Series with Ashley Glick! A four-part series giving us a glimpse into the lives of 4 different wives and their side of their husband's restoration story.Ashley shares her journey of restoration in her own life and her future husband Steve. Though Ashley didn’t grow up in church, a friend’s family helped start her faith. She met Steve soon after, who at the time was struggling through addiction. This marked the beginning of their journey together through seasons of struggles and seasons of immense joy. “We were two imperfect people working towards the same goal,” she says.A 2009 trip to Liberia transformed Steve’s life, sparking changes that deepened his faith and prepared them for marriage. Through challenges like a brief breakup and the loss of Steve’s father, Ashley leaned on prayer and faith, encouraging others to “stay prayerful” and believe the best in your spouse. Today, their marriage is thriving. Raising their kids to love Jesus and love others. Because of some timely mentorships and a belief in each other, Ashley and Steve are continuing to build on their marriage, knowing that there is always room to grow and learn. Support our mission to change a culture, one man at a time – https://menofiron.org/donateThis week we continue our Family Series as we talk about Broken Marriages and Relationships and how to find restoration. When you are dealing with a broken marriage or relationship, it's a really hard place to be. One of the best ways to avoid a broken marriage is to not let it get there in the first place. Which is easier said than done! God will bless your marriage when you put the work in. Take a step even when it doesn't feel right. If you are in a place of brokenness and feel hopeless, remember God knows who you are and where you are. He calls you his son and will come to you in your mess. Broken relationships exist in marriages, with kids, friends, and many more situations. Ryan shares an amazing story of a broken relationship between a father and son restored through Christ. Remember there is potential for restoration in that broken relationship, you just have to give it to God. Four Steps to Restore Your Marriage and Broken Relationships:#1 – Evaluate your relationship with God#2 – Remember that God knows what your going through#3 – Think through what your broken relationship is suppose to teach you#4 – Share your story of how God changed your broken relationshipWe would love to help equip you for this journey, reach out to us today and let us be a resource for you! https://menofiron.org/contact-us/You can now watch the Men of Iron Podcast on YouTube – www.youtube.com/@men_of_iron. Support our mission to change a culture, one man at a time – https://menofiron.org/donateThis week we wrap up the Challenges Men Face series with another tough question, "How to find a healthy work-life balance?" When we think about our family and work we desire to find a healthy balance, but often have a hard time actually doing it. For men in the middle of their career, raising a family, etc.–it's hard to find a healthy balance between your job and time at home. With technology and work at our fingertips, it's harder than ever to turn it off when we get home. It's a challenge to put an end to that work day when you can easily access email, to-do's and messages on your phone.Men, your wife, your, kids, your family deserve your undivided attention. What can we continue to do to be more present and intentional at home? Your kids are smarter than you think and see what you do and don't do. The minute you step foot in that door they are excited to see you and spend time with you. When you choose your phone or a work email over time with them, you are showing them what's more important. We have to create healthy boundaries between our jobs and our families. We have to show them that they ARE more important than your phone or work email. What are some practical steps for finding a healthy work-life balance#1 – Turn your phone off – if you don't want to turn it off, put it on silent and set it aside)#2 – Prioritize your time – set aside the first hour to go on a walk, play a game with them, etc.#3 – Communicate – talk to your wife about her day, your day. Talk to your kids about their day#4 – Be honest and transparent - If you had a rough day, or a good day, share that with themMen, let's put these practical tips into place today. Let's set an example of what it looks like to have a healthy work-life balance. Trust me, this healthy balance will impact you and your family in a major and help you establish healthy rhythms for the future. Join us for Part 3 of The Wives Restoration Series with Jen Rhoads! A four-part series giving us a glimpse into the lives of 4 different wives and their side of their husband's restoration story.Jen grew up in a conservative religious family, knowing she was loved but never hearing it. She became a Christian at 13, motivated more by the fear of going to hell than a love for God. Marlin experienced a very similar upbringing, they met at a Bible school one summer, and would eventually get married. Early challenges in the marriage arose as they left their home church, stopped attending church altogether, and Marlin started hanging out with the wrong crowd. These unhealthy habits eventually led to Marlin asking Jen to move out.Despite these trials, Jen's unwavering faith carried her. In 2012, after a season of separation, Marlin wanted to get back together but it wouldn't last long. After their daughter was born Jen discovered that Marlin was having an affair and now faced with the pain of a second separation. Through it all, Jen leaned on God, practicing what she calls "benevolent detachment," releasing burdens and trusting in His plan. A turning point came when she felt God promise a shift in their marriage—and in November 2014, Marlin sought to reconcile again.Fast forward to 2020, during another rough patch, Marlin signed up for a one-to-one mentorship with Men of Iron. The mentorship transformed his life. The encouragement and camaraderie from another man helped Marlin grow as a husband, father, and spiritual leader. Today, Jen sees the fruits of this decision—their marriage has stability, their children feel the peace in their home, and Jen has found it easier to trust God.If you are looking to take the next step in your faith journey, let us be a resource for you, contact us today – menofiron.org/contact-usYou can now watch the Men of Iron Podcast on YouTube – www.youtube.com/@men_of_iron. Justin Watkins is back on the pod as dive into Week 3 of our Fitness & Health Series. Last week we talked about how to start your fitness journey and provided some practical first steps. Remember, it's important to focus on the physical part of your fitness journey, but do not neglect the spiritual, emotional and mental components as well. Today I want to talk to the guy who is already on the climb of his fitness journey, maybe on the mountain just above the tree line. You've been committed to some new fitness routines for a season or two. This part of the climb is beyond the early stage of working through those pressing pain points of your initial goals and health needs. Remember, it takes at least 90 days of consistency in a habit or routine before you should be evaluating the progress. At this point, your fitness efforts are becoming a more natural part of who you are, rather than something you’re striving to do. This is going from, “I want to work out” to having a mindset of, “I am a person who works out,”So we are at the pitch of the mountain, and you’re here to pause for a bit and assess the journey. Here are 3 reasons why:#1 - You are now ready and need to go deeper into the spiritual and emotional dynamics related to your fitness journey#2 - You need to look back down the mountain and celebrate the progress you’ve made#3 - Perhaps the climb is getting weary and you need to check off those first two reasons in order to refocus your vision and refresh your energy to get moving"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20Listen to the Men of Iron Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Alexa, Google Podcasts and many more! Joby Martin is the founder and lead pastor of The Church of Eleven22 (https://coe22.com) in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to providing The Church of Eleven22 with vision and leadership, Pastor Joby is a national and international preacher and teacher. Joby grew up in South Carolina and spent much of his Sunday mornings hunting and fishing, and not at Sunday service. Joby knew of God but knew nothing of Jesus being the propitiation of his sins. He was at youth camp as a teenager and the counselors reenacted the crucifixion of Jesus, they gave a gospel presentation and a salvation invitation.Check out Joby Martin's new book Stand Firm & Act Like Men (https://www.amazon.com/Stand-Firm-Act-Like-Men/dp/1546008217). Becoming the Man You Were Created to Be Instead of Who the World Says You are.Joby would later go back to that same camp in college, and started preaching. It was at camp that one of the speakers said, "Some of you need to go into full-time vocational ministry," and Joby felt like God was talking to directly to him.So I went and talked to my pastor and he said, "God will always confirm what he calls," and he invited me to be an intern.Joby went on to launch his church in 2012. At The Church of Eleven22, they are calling all men to stand up and act like men. "There is a real attack on manhood in today's culture." It's a high holy calling to be created in the image of God as a man. To be a provider, protector, and servant king. The problem is that men have abdicated their responsibil
