Dr. Barbara Hales: Welcome to another episode of Marketing Tips for Doctors.

I’m your host, Dr. Barbara house, and today we have with us, Dr. Juliana Nahas. She is a board-certified pediatrician and a functional medicine-certified practitioner who specializes in treating complex pediatric health conditions like autism, ADHD, autoimmune disorders, obesity, asthma, allergies, eczema, you name it, she does it.

For over 25 years, Dr. Nahas has served her community in the tri-counties of Newton Rockdale and Walden, Georgia, and is now offering virtual visits for clients who live at a distance and also people that just are not comfortable going back to the doctor’s office yet, with the Omicron virus going around.

Dr. Nahas is an integrative physician experienced in both conventional and holistic functional approaches, as well as in Mind, Body, and Spirit medicine, to help your children have the best overall health possible. After experiencing her own troubles with an autoimmune condition that almost rendered her crippled. Dr. Nahas searched all types of conventional and alternative modalities to get well again. She knew that taking Advil every day wasn’t the answer. And she found that energy healing yoga and mindset meditations as well as a functional approach led her to resume her vibrant energy and vitality and a few short months.

Now, she combines her knowledge and expertise with her Pediatric and Adolescent clients to customize their treatment approach and help them restore their optimal health. Welcome to the show, Dr. Nahas.

Dr. Juliana Nahas: Thank you, Barbara. So glad to be here.

Mini-Course

Dr. Barbara Hales: Well, it is a pleasure having you here today. I understand that you have created a mini-course. What is that all about?

Dr. Juliana Nahas: The mini-course talks to families who are considering working with me about what it’s like and what are some considerations and nuances come into play when you’re looking at a holistic approach to ADHD, autism, depression, and anxiety. So I do a lot of mental health work.

Even though I’m a pediatrician, I’ve had tons of experience over the last decade or three decades, really 30 years of practice. Seeing that you can’t just look at it as a nail, you can just come to it with one tool, you need a multi-disciplined approach. And that was true for my health as well when I was sick. So now with my own experience in my training, I thought I would share some of the experience in this mini-course. And talk to parents like I’m talking with you just about if you have this issue, what do we need to consider, what we need to think about?

Dr. Barbara Hales: Well, this is really novel. In all my years as a doctor and beyond, I have never actually heard of a doctor creating a mini-course for patients to inform them and guide them along the way. So you’re really on the cutting edge.

Dr. Juliana Nahas: I got tired of repeating myself, so to speak. So I thought let me record it because everybody that I meet, I’m saying the same thing over and over again. So I thought this would simplify my work as well.

The book is entitled: Wellness Wisdom: The Holistic Guide to Revitalizing your Mind, Body, and Soul

Dr. Barbara Hales: Well, that’s true. And I guess that is also what prompted you to write a book, the book that it’s out already or it’s...

Damon Moschetto: Thanks for having me, happy to be here.

How It All Started

Dr. Barbara Hales: So tell us how it all started.

Damon Moschetto: That’s a long story but sure. I actually got into the health and fitness business out of college due to necessity. I went to college to play baseball and got injured and couldn’t play anymore. So I needed something to do. So it was just a natural progression for me to get into the health and fitness space and from there I dove into it headfirst went into learned everything I could about exercise, physiology, nutrition, and so forth. I was able to help a lot of clients. But one thing that I got into, I really started to understand more. Well actually, I was just more in searching to get better results for my clients was what was the missing piece. And I really uncovered that it’s really mine. So that’s what I started studying.

I always say the first half of my career was diving into physiology and everything you could about the body. And then the second half of my career was all about the mind and learned about leadership techniques and mindset, etc. So that was kind of my transition from there. How I went from the health. I’m still obviously health is a big part of what you know, we talk about promoting lifestyle and so forth, but transfer the trajectory of my career more into the mindsets, you know, psychology side of things, and just helping people with that. So kind of open up a different avenue, I guess then just being in fitness.

How Damon Coaches Professionals

Dr. Barbara Hales: You say that you coach health professional CEOs, other coaches, how do you go about that? Did you set up a strategic plan? What does that look like?

Damon Moschetto: When I’m coaching the clients?

Dr. Barbara Hales: Yes

Damon Moschetto: Yeah, so sure. The first thing I do is sit down and do like a discovery session what are you looking for? Where do you need help? Where are your challenges? Uncover what’s going on,...

Tami Jaffe: Thank you, Barbara, it’s great to be here with you.

Getting into the Field of Coaching

Dr. Barbara Hales: Tell me. Tell us, how did you get into this field? How did that evolve?

Tami Jaffe: I call myself a recovering CPA. I started off as an accountant and worked my way up in corporate and spent 20 years working in the real estate investment management space in a corporate environment. I got to a point where I realized that there was more to life, there was more to life than the job. I wanted to do more, I wanted to help more people. Through that, I decided, I had always called myself, the mentor manager. The manager who wants to help mentor you, help you get to the next place where you figure things out. I realized I wanted to do that through coaching and helping more people.

I started off as a leadership and career success coach because I had spent 20 years in leadership and wanted to see better leaders in our organizations and in businesses. As I got into it, I had more and more people come to me and start saying, How did you do it? How did you make the transition from being a corporate leader to starting your own business? And finally, one day it was one of my coaches kind of woke me up and said, Tami, people are asking you to coach them on this. You need to be a business coach for them and help them through this transition. Because it’s not easy when you’re starting your business.

Promoting Oneself

Dr. Barbara Hales: No, absolutely not. There are many people that can benefit from your services. But how do you promote yourself so that people know that you’re out there and available to them?

Tami Jaffe: I do a lot of speaking. I do my sponsor certain events. I think initially when people are starting, it’s about just telling people what you’re doing. telling people that you know, because your first clients are going to come from your network. Your patients for medical factors are going to come from referrals from your networks. ...
